As an aircraft technician I must add that same aircraft can have slightly different extend and retract speeds depending on calibration of various mechanical links in the undercarriage system. A restored spitfire from the 40's MAY also house newer components believe it or not because the old components are worn out and have had to be replaced. I'm not sure if the spits undercarriage was hydraulic or pneumatic, but there are a lot of factors for each type of system that can add or remove seconds to the cycle.
Or the specific model and make you see in the movie is actually a late-war spit with upgraded system. I don't know the exact details for the spitfires, but in general aircraft systems knowledge, no plane is the same ;)
