British Fighters -reduced engine power
I don't know how many of you fly with automatic engine management, but could someone tell me please how to overcome the (brit fighter) current problem of the power being reduced even though throttle is at max? At the moment Spitfires and Hurricanes are almost unplayable for me.
I've also noticed since beta patch install that not all the cockpit instruments are telling the truth (e.g. the artificial horizon, compass) Regards, BobTuck. |
that instrument thing has been there from the start sadly:
The instrument says its level, its not http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...417_094026.jpg This is clearly actually level and the instrument is out http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...417_094049.jpg |
Sorry but the artificial horizon is no indication for flying straight and level. The rate of climb indicator gives you a clue but the only exact way is to watch repeatetly at the altimeter.
The magentic compass only shows the exact heading if there is no acceleration. So you have fly straight and level at constant speed. The direction indicator has to be set by the pilot to the heading read from the magnatic compass every 10-15 minutes. |

Well, i dont think they do. During violent manoeuvres for ex, some artificial horizons are useless. Takes them forever to catch up so to speak. If u do a looping for ex, when u are at the end and flying level again, the artificial horizon can tell u u are still up side down. |

The aircraft can be parallel to the ground but depending on the speed it may be descending or climbing. Also the compass can show to north but slip and crosswind may alter your course. |

a) they can become unbalanced from violent maneuvers and require flying level for a few minutes to "straighten out" and b) if you keep a certain attitude long enough the gyroscopes will default to that state after some time...so for example if you can hold a perfectly steady 30 degree bank for 5 minutes the artificial horizon will indicate level when you are in fact banked. Long story short, it's realistic and not a bug ;) |
