Why it`s so green Blue is much better!
Hi, before my english is not the best.
I have a little Question: Why is the Game such green. Not only the ground, it`s the Sky too. Here someone has made a Picture of the Game, put it into Photoshop an did the Autolevel. It´s only one klick. (very easy) After this one klick, the Game has 100 times better ground colour and a blue Sky. http://www.abload.de/thumb/2011-04-18_000173jvi.jpg I think it´s very easy to have a better looking game if 1C do so! |
I think in your particular example such a measure might be a good idea but I guess the problem is more complex. If I understand correctly, the colors are influenced by the atmospheric conditions and the time of the day. If you apply a certain filter it might look good under certain weather conditions/time of day but make all others worse.

It`doesn`t matter which time you are flying, it`s to green. Make a Screenshot put it into Photoshop and do autolevel. it´s always to green. |
the original sky is fine and so are the plane / vehicle colours... buidings aren't too bad either but terrain is too yellow.
try taking the yellow out, and see how it looks. btw, your clouds look blue |
If you prefer a blue sky, I think you can fix that with your monitor settings. Personally, I think the yellowish green is a decent reproduction of early summer.

2,3000m are enough to cover everything in a blue haze.(horizontal or lateral, doesn't really matter) Maybe you can get those PS conditions in the middle of the desert.... |
Lets vote on that

Nope, it is good as it is now. I dont like magenta in cyan. Many people dont like blue thats leaning towards purple. Also, ground is yellow when under direct sunlight and thats ok. This is for voting, i dont like digital niddles, dumbed down headshake and similar suprises that come through constant pressure of minority of users. Would be better for example to make smooth transition between field of view change, and i never saw anyone ask for that but forum is full of people who like grayish gama and dark blue sky. How about rain weather with rain drops effect that would look more dark and blue in gama? |
"If I understand correctly, the colors are influenced by the atmospheric conditions and the time of the day..."
Yes, but the render engine may also have a problem with altitude : colors can be quite good at low altitudes, but get "pastel" when getting higher. |
IMHO, in game colours are ok for low altitudes, but flying high a bit of blue and less saturation can make the fly more realistic (desaturation atmosferic effect).
Sorry for my english. |
