Weird Graphics

Having searched the forum, I can't find much about the issue that I am experiencing.

I purchased COD and tried running it with my Nvidia 9600 GT GPU (unsupported)

The game ran with everything on the low settings, at very low framerates. However visually everything looked as it should.

I decided to upgrade to a "supported" GPU an MSI N460GTX, and since then I get strange lighting effects, artefacts, and other weirdness.

here are some screenshots

I have tried without success:
  • all the graphics options in the game incluging those that worked with my "unsupported" 9600 GT
  • Clearing the graphics cache.
  • re-installing the game (manually deleting any game folders in between)
  • new and legacy GPU drivers.(inc clean install)
  • most of the settings in the nvidia control pannel

other games (Rise of Flight, STALKER) are OK.

I have a seperate issue with My PSU rating but dont think that is causing this issue.

See posts on the CoD on XP and D9 thread.

Possibly, but after the latest update and newly released graphics drivers, I am beginning to think it's the combination of Win XP, DX9 and the 460 GTS.

What settings are you using please?

Its the GTX460 and Winxp. A Lot of us are haveing major graphics corruption with this card and this OS and this game(I had problems with 2 other games also. Two Worlds 2 and Stalker COP with Full dynamic Lighting). Only way to solve that anyone has come up with is to change the card or change the OS:( I fixed it by changing back to my GTX 260.

YAY!I Wants to use my Brand new 460! Can U fix Stalker and Two Worlds 2 also:)P

Hey Jetski<<<< Are U running Stalker COP,? and if U are can U try turning on an ANY of the Dynamic lighting options and tell me if it screws up the game. With the 460 it turns the game into Rainbows. Its hard to explain but it makes the game unplayable.

Sorry, I don't have that game, just "Shadow over Chernobyl" (which runs OK).

but I can run Rise of Flight with no issues, Plus DCS Ka-50.

After extensive playing with settings I am convinced there are none that cure the problem. My old GPU (a 9600) is not up to the job, so it's either wait for a patch or save for a Win 7 upgrade.
