Going to Installing Windows 7 Home Premium 32/64bit.

Will/should this help the FPS and be able to see the grass and holes in the glass from enemy gun fire?

Im no expert mate but it should be an improvement on xp, win 7 supports dx10 as well as other things, better ram usage ect, so game should run better IMO.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.

I was hoping you would say that. I read that you would get better FPS and other things like Grass that need dx10. I'm going to put W7 on an outside HD not my main HD so I can still have XP.

I'm 1 hr and some change (pun intended) from having Windows 7 Home Premium down loaded and ready to put on dvd to install.

I'v never made a duel boot before as to have two OS on one HD. This is the why I'm going to do this.

This may help some others if thy have XP and want to put Windows 7 32/64bit on the same HD.

I wouldn't consider installing any new game or sim on anything other than Win 7 64 bit, XP was/is a good OS, but Win 7 is better in all area's.

If you still need XP for something dual boot as was mentioned, but I stopped even this some time ago.


Also XP's days of MS support and updates are running out while Win 7's has not long begun.

I now have XP 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit on One HD.

The main thing about doing this is unless you have XP/vista 64 bit you can not put a Windows 64 bit on the HD.

I first put a partition on the HD. Then took out the HD and put it in a 64 bit PC (MY wife's) then installed windows 7 32 bit first you must do that first . Then the Windows 7 64 bit installer and load to the Windows 7 32 bit and unguarded it.

Put my HD back in my PC and booted up. The PC asked if I want to run the older version windows (being XP 32 bit) Or Windows 7.

After windows 7 loaded it was 64 bit.:-)
