Night Lighting/Instrument Lights
Has anyone else noticed in the 109 that the instruments are individually lit as seen from an external view, but in the cockpit, they are not ... which is a pity. At the moment, night flying is not really possible, as the alternative is to fly with cockpit floodlights on which is a non-starter. Hopefully this will be addressed at some point ... as will the 'see through stars issue' ;)

Yea the cockpit lighting is definitely off.
Turn on the cockpitlights low over London, bank your aircraft a bit and you suddenly light up hundreds of buildings around you... never knew they used such strong spotlights in WW2 planes. |
isnt there a dial to vary the intensity? I know there is on one aircraft at least.

I also noticed the night-time star field is visible behind aircraft, instead of being hidden.

I haven't tried night flying yet so i can't comment on the bugs, but from my recollection most of the real aircraft of the time didn't have individually lit instruments.
Usually it was just a combination of floodlights and fluorescent paint on the dials. You can clearly see the floodlights in the cockpits, not only in CoD but in IL2:1946 too. |
Talking of lights and such, I flew over London about 2000hrs. I was surprised to see buildings have lights.

Are you shure those are lights, and not the light of the setting sun reflecting in windows? Impressive either way :)
