Resolution/Performance

Hi all,

Have a question, having problem with the performance and have set everyting to lowest possible, no AA/AF.

This is only for testing but when running in window mode I have ~60fps in 1024x768 and ~120fps in 640x480.

I feel it is strange with the performance difference between the two low resolutions.

When running native 1920x1080 I have on the same settings around 30fps.

Is this strange or just normal, I have a feeling that last years gaming resolution has not made such a drastic impact to performance.

Computer:

Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.8GHz, 6GB ram and GTX285 1GB + Win7 x64 with SSD

Thanks!

Did some more testing with everything on low this time (my bad) and at 1024x768 I have ~70fps and at 640x480 ~170fps (max 250fps).

100fps difference between those two resolutions?

And in 1920x1080 when looking straight up to the blue sky ~50fps and in the lowest resolution 250fps....

Perhaps this is normal but feels strange for me, thanks for any advice.

Yeah it's normal for fps to drop when you have to render more pixels.

Do you think this is an indication that CoD is more GPU bound?
I mean, the higher the resolution, more GPU dependant are the frame rate, right?

IbanezLaney: Yes, understand it will drop, but it is such a major difference between the two low resolutions.

lbuchele: Yes, looks like the gpu is the bottleneck for me.
