Its not my group, just one thats been there for a while, I just didn't see the point of splitting the community over two groups.

Just for laughs I logged in to my ancient Steam account.

There are games in my list there I've never heard of...

Hey Petrosky. :)
You have to first log in with your steam account on that page and then the "join" button shows up. If is not there click on the "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover
" tab at the top of the list. The "join" button should be on the right of the page that opens.
