Things that make you laugh and think what an idiot.
Today whilst looking at the news on the red button this programme about a company who finds people who can inherit others money when they haven't left a will was on bbc1 (as bbc channels are the only 1s with red button news) and this guy had lived through the blitz and it gave a breif overview of the blitz and a few films then I thought that dont look right so i rewound it to find instead of a flight of JU87s they included pictures of a flight of 2 man sturmoviks those wernt even available to the russians till 1942.
This thread can include in game stuff as well. |
I was watching a program on the history channel about the P-51. It was talking about how the early models were used for air strikes. It then cut to a short clip of a flight of 3 Ju-87s dive bombing a target. You'd think the HISTORY channel would know better!

Best one for me was one of the Air Crash Ivestigation episodes. A Russian airliner was flying over Siberia to China. It was a new Airbus the airline had just got. The pilots children were onboard and he decided to let his son and daughter sit in the number 1 and 2 seats.
His son was playing with the yoke pretending to fly the plane and ended up actually controlling the plane, even though the pilot had put the autopilot one. The son got the plane into a huge climb then dive. After lots of effort the pilot managed to get into the seat but it was too late and the plane crashed in the Siberian wilderness killing all onboard. Crash investigative found the kids bodies in the cockpit and figured they had been thrown into it by the crash. It was only later when they reviewed the cockpit voice recorders when they realised what had happened. After a long investigation it turned out the Airbus autopilot could be deactivated by sharp turns on the yoke, something the pilots previous aircraft didn't do. Sorry for the loss of life but never put kids in control of a passenger aircraft! |
Ok nothing to do with il2 or planes but military movies are the best being a former infantry marine I love it when I see things like fully automatic m16's (not talking about Vietnam era a1's) patroling so close together 1 grenade could kill a whole squad rocket launchers are the best lol no sorry the don't go whoosh when you shoot them grenades don't throw people also the failed attempts at speaking in military terms is hilarious too many other things to list

Another thing that makes me laugh is films with the wrong weapons.
There was 1 cant remember name but the germans had sten guns. |
LOL, Saving Private Ryan...
Yes the D-Day scene was cool, but they showed them catching the beach on the first wave, which never happened. In fact the first wave had 99% casualties. Still a great scene non the less. But once Ven Diesel died the movie turned bad. Shooting through scopes of snipers, a fake battle for a bridge, stupid german soldiers, oh and my personal favorite, the T34 Panzer. Yes thats right, look at the tank near the end of themovie again and you will find a Panzer turret mounted right on top of a old T34 tank. Oh, and how about that Danger Close airstrike by the P-51's were Hanks is shooting his Colt at the tank when it blows up like 50 feet away. HAHA no. |
Another one I always laugh at is guns in films. They can rattle like their held together with sting, never need to be reloaded and make cocking noises for no apparent reason. For the good guys they can be pinpoint accurate while running, and the baddies can't hit anything beyond 10 feet. I love Hollywood...

The landing scenes in Saving Private Ryan were filmed at Curracloe beach very close to where I live in Ireland. It was a bit mad seeing all the WW11 kit scattered all over the place for filming. I was kinda hopeing a section could have been left once filming had been completed but everything was shipped out and the beach restored to its original glory.

Back to the game.
When you set up a dogfight, and someone continously brings a bomber..... |
The kids who play COD and think they are the best are funny
