FW-190 A41.42 ATA & DGEN campaigns
 

When Team Daidalos decided to give us all the new version of the 190A4. They accidentally altered all of the dgen campaigns featuring the original 190A4, because now we all have to use the derated version that flies around at 80% max throttle.

Is it possible for TD to change the name of the 1.42ata 190A4 to the original 190a4 so DGEN will allow us to fly this version instead of the derated jabo version?

The A-4 originally was modelled to derated performance, so for consistency the fully rated model has been given a new designation.

I understand this, however was the so called derated version/performance considered for all of the degen & static campaigns created that the 190A4 exists in?

I gather the derated A4 never featured on the Western front & yet we have plenty of campaigns with it involved.

What I am trying to do is get the fully rated A4 involved in the stock dgen campaigns, & campaigns such as Amagis disaster on the frontiers, without having to edit dgen files.

All it would take is a relabeling of the original derated A4 & have the new A4 name changed so dgen will recognize it & not chuck a hissy fit

Not sure that flying the derated version is necessarily a bad thing since the current models of FWs in the game apparently suffer from no parasitic drag whatsoever. :-P

Well if that's the case then maybe they should revert to the old FM until they get the drag issue sorted.

But this thread is not about that, its about dgen campaigns & the in ability of using a fully rated 190a4 in them (stock) as we have had before.

A lot of work has been done on the A4 throughout the patches & it had turned into the plane with its historical fearsome reputation that it was, without the introduction of the fully rated 190 A4 1.42ATA

To be honest why was it introduced in the first place, was the impact on all the dgen campaigns considered?

DGEN really hasn't been considered by anyone since release in IL-2 Forgotten Battles. Except for the briefest of updates for Pacific Fighters (and a fairly poor attempt at that).

My understanding with the FW190A-4 is that the initial versions to the Eastern Front did not have fully rated engines. Fixes were introduced and they were later fully rated. Because the FW190A-4 is important both as fighter and fighter-bomber past the initial introduction date it is kind of helpful to have both versions.

I love sub versions of aircraft because they make multiplayer and campaign scenarios more accurate and nuanced. But adding aircraft does take its toll on the DGEN system... its missing a ton of aircraft like the LaGG-3 Series 29 or 33, or Yak-9M or Yak-9UT, etc.

DGen v4.0.8.7 recognizes the LaGG-3 Series 29 and 33. I've played DGen campaigns that used both of them. v4.0.8.7 is third-party, coming either from EnjoyR or from the Ostfront payware packages, I can't remember.

Can't speak for the Yaks you mention as I haven't used them in campaigns.
