Radiator Problems with some AC
Some of the IL-2 planes do not have radiator damage models and this is a bug. These are the:
Hurri II Mc.202 Mc.205 Yak (all models) LaGG-3 (all models) http://www.degnans.com/markd/Radiator_Hurri.jpg http://www.degnans.com/markd/Radiator_folgore.jpg http://www.degnans.com/markd/Radiato...vlev_Yak-3.jpg http://www.degnans.com/markd/Radiator_LaGG.jpg Some similar planes that have radiator damage models and work correctly are the Hurri I and the Mig-3. All planes have a similar design. http://www.degnans.com/markd/Radiator_box.jpg http://www.degnans.com/markd/Radiator_box_small.jpg Would it be easy to fix these similar planes? It would be a big fix for light MG damage! Anyway, radiators are interesting! :D |
Hehe after 10 years of sucking it up and having to tolerate the cannons crowd and their "learn to shoot" insanity this simply wouldn't cut it anymore.
We need tungsten-core .303s:mrgreen: to make it up for all these years. |
Yeah, I like .303's for their speed and accuracy but they basically do next to nothing in Il2. I've unloaded an entire Hurri II (12x .303) in a macchi at point blank, no real damage, mind you this was an AI plane, a human plane would have seen some damage.

I used to aim at the radiator on Hurris with the 109's machineguns once I'd ran out of cannon ammo, and get quite bemused when I saw hits but nothing happened. It's the only real target from behind. I would like this too.

The not the gun thats the problem, it's the radiator.
Use only the 7.62mm in a Bf109E and hit a radiator with some Yaks and Laggs or Mc. 202. There is no radiator damage. The to hit a radiator in a IL-2. The IL-2 radiator will damage with a thin smoke easily. So, IL-2 is a really wimp compared to Yaks or Laggs. (sorry I can't write very well) |
