when to get new maps?
 

Any thoughts on when one should buy new maps to neighboring systems? I am staying busy with the starting systems and wonder when one normally buys new maps? Thanks

You should hold off buying maps until you are ready to start clearing out systems. If you are doing the delivery missions, you will only get ones that are inside your visible maps. A few other times you may want to buy maps early is if you are limited in the distance you can go, and one of the maps might give you a shorter route. Also, if you are looking for a station, or something from the news, or search, that is in another map. As with most things in this game it is a judgement call, buy them if you think it might do some good, but don't buy them just because you can.
