How to make sure AI really bombs the target

I'm busy with a dogfight carrier defend mission. Hordes of japanese AI bomber flights waiting in turn to attack the carrier, japanese AI fighters doing CAP, it's dusk, you have an inexperienced bunch of gunners, and the radar guy can't even figure out which are the fighters and which are the bombers? And when the carrier is lost, you can't even land on either of the two islands (you can always try).

But, it's only fun if the bombs really hit the carrier, or torpedo's really strike. Even with AI on ace, they miss all the time. What am I doing wrong?

Hope you guys like the idea, it's meant to be played almost full switch, only (very limited) icons, speedbar and fog of war. Only bonus is the strong headwind for taking off and landing. And for the fun factor you can choose any type of plane, you get the points after a succesful landing anyway :-P

"set" (green line) the CV as target at the attackwaypoint.
make a normal waypoint ~10km before the attackwaypoint.
give the divebombers a proper attackheading.
give the torpbombers an height of 500m, the rest they are doing alone..

and such things.

What I've got sure looks somewhat that way. Apparently they drop the torps with the wrong speed & altitude, because they never resurface. I used 100 meters altitude, I'll try 500. For dropping from above I used 2000 meters alt. and probably 5 km distance. It's not that they don't have enough time. The bombs drop 250 - 500 meters short. Aircraft is always the B5N6.

Well, if you would like me to take a look at the mission, just put it in a zip file and post it here...it's easy to do. I assume it's unmodded 4.10.

Bomb Delay = 0

Yes, unmodded. I've taken a look at the 4.10 guide and changed altitude and speed accordingly for the Type 91 torpedo, 30 meters and 240 kph. That did the trick. Too bad the AI doesn't know these new values. Sometimes they even stray from my directions.

Now I'm wondering if there's a list where I can find the number of hitpoints a generic Lexington class carrier has, and the damage points a Type 91 takes.
