teach your children well...

boys, ya know, this is going to be an on going thing. we seem to have an bunch of newbies coming in after recently "discovering" this wonderful game....and will for months to come. a legacy we all can leave them is...to teach them...how to love this game...the joy of flying...the thrill of dog fighting. how many "games" have the unique following that BoP does? Very few..to be truthful, very few. And, ya know its appropriate that "the FEW" ( and I dont mean to disrespect those gallant boys who fought the BoB for real...far be it!!) applies to us who deeply appreciate the game. despite all the newly released games and fads we all seem meander back here and back into the skies after those thrills pass. there are threads " God, how I missed this game". Its because this IS a wonderful...awesome, like no other, game. SO, take someone new....someone who just "found" this game...share your wisdom. teach them how to rule the skies, to dance in the clouds, become the predator and not the prey .....and it will be like the first time you soared over britian, france, germany, or russia. yeah ok, its my friday & there is alcohol involved....and i havent been in a semi ass kicked rant for awhile...but all things considered my dear mates, where else in life can you impart what you know to someone and reap the enjoyment of it at the same time? only in BoP. see you in the skies lads.......

'socks..

You deserve a mention for keeping this corner of the internet active.

I read all your 'In their words' posts (usually with a coffee and a cig).

I like your drunk posts too! ;)

Anyway, keep it up.

Nice post bobby, When I flew last week I didn't fly any arcade matches with people I knew, they were all new players. Great to see the game so busy.
Also remember to point them to the forum if they are playing seriously

Good shout :D

Your drunken rants are one of the forums many highlights for me haha. Keep up the good work pilot.

Right on, right on. I gave a copy to my newphew a while back. But i've heard he said it was a bit challenging... I hope he gets on it and practices a bit.

I've been on and off the last week or 2 due to some new games I got over the holidays, but hope to be on tonite. I'll see ya in a few hours hopefully.

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
Ruyard Kipling

I may be banned from this board following this comment, but here goes...............I've owned this game for over 12 months and have not played a single mission.....................................:( there are reasons for it, mainly due to having 2 young childern and a very busy work schedule but rare gaming spare time has usually been spent playing less intensive games such as BFBC2 online. I'm a bad person I know but it's rather easy to throw the disc and and squeeze out a few quick MP games.

My 2011 NY resolution is to dust off the ACE combat sticks and fire this beast up. Once I've got my head around it I'm going to get some online flights going should there be a few flyers out there. If so, please be gentle if you see Mizwa (fumbling through the 360 skys) and I look forward to receiving some expert tutelage.:grin:
