Nvidia , Fraps & il2...

Well since my 8800 imploded , ive turned to N's 480GTX and ive not been able to record a stutter free track since , my game play is super smooth only over the most densly populated areas dose it hint at a fps drop , but when I start recording even on the simplist of maps I just get stuttering im fairly experianced at making movies with il2 and beleive me ive tried all I can think of to sort this but no joy, any one else here suffering the same ? or can offer some advice , it would be most welcome.

my 8800 also went poof! and i got a GTX 460 ... same problems not so pronounced but there's some stutering allthough the new card is suposed to be more powerfull than 8800 i think ...

I was experienced with the same situation while my record space was limited. When i choose bigger free space on my hard drive, records has done smoothly.

It's not the card but the code of the game. You can have 580 SLI and still experience some stutter.

Hmmm , I have a complete stand alone hard drive just for recording material , so I dont think this is the issue , only improvement ive been able to make is by lowering from 1920/1080 to 1680/1050 this gives slightly less stuttering but overall its still there , acording to the interweb Nv's 400 range is reciveing alot of complaints about stutters on different games , so Im certin its the card as its also the only thing that has changed on my rig since my 8800 bit the dust which gave me almost stutter free recording .

S!

I had no problems with the 580GTX with IL-2. But the 460GTX has received quite a lot of flak on forums due various issues. One remedy has been to disable HPET(High Precision Event Table) in BIOS of your mobo. Also try putting Multithread support OFF in NV Control Panel and see if it helps.

I get stutters with AMD 6970HD so not any better here either :( But strangely only at certain angle! Oh well, gotta live with it :)

Hi flanker , can you be a bit more specific as to where in the Bios the"HPET" is as ive just had a quick look and cant see it.

Thanks
Jafa.

What motherboard do you have? That way it's possible to check if it's an option of the motherboard and easier to explain the steps in the BIOS.

S!

It can be under chipset settings, advanced ones. Also has this C1State settings there usually. But really depends on mobo if you can tune it or not.

Mobo is an oldish Asus P5k , also had a good look around and cant find anything "HPET" in there under chipset.
