I wont buy Assault Squad unless they fix this
Concerning Men of War: Assault Squad beta.
I am the leader of Magog Clan and have been playing computer war games for 30 years. My influence on bringing more players to this game is quite large. The game seems really good except for one VITAL part. I can't tell what the hell is going on. I can't see who is who and who is where. Before purchasing this game, I would want a toggle button to turn on/off BIG BRIGHT unit icons that hover over friendly and un-friendly units. Each type of unit should have its own unique icon and it needs to be a color that is very noticeable. A different color for each friendly player too. All enemy units can be the same color. Also, the minimap needs work. I would also like the traditional W,A,S,D keys to move the screen around. Thanks for reading. Kruelgor Military Alliance of Gog (MAGOG) |
Im pretty sure the icons over the heads wont happen and I kinda hope it doesnt, half the difficulty to Men of War is the micromanagement war, which after playing the game awhile you will figure out things out and will win that war. There is the Highlight Units button but thats meh and I try to not use it, looks rediculous with blue and red guys all over the place. As for the minimap, what about it needs work? It's just a reference of where stuff is, you can enlarge it and stuff but its not like a Battleplanner map to tell you everything. As for moving the screen around with WASD you can make happen, just remap your controls....though it will be interesting to see how you Direct control anything.

I would like a few changes made in MoW. The first thing is the green triangle icon under each peron's feet. IMO, the round one used in Men of War: Red Tide is much nicer.

your lucky, i wont be buying assault squad because the infantry all have white textures, including all enemy so its unplayable really. i dont know if its a beta only problem. but it doesnt encourage me to buy it if my oldish but pretty reasonable graphics card cant play it. ATi X1950PRO.
