worth it?

Hi all.

I want to change my graphic card 3Dclub hd 4870 512M OC edition with AMD Asus hd 6870 1G. It will be any increase in performance becouse of more the graphic RAM ?

This is the question for Il-2 sim. Not for Il-2 Battle for Britain.

rgr.

S!

Yes. Definitely a better card than the 4-series in performance and other specs(DirectX 11 etc). I would recommend it or similar from the NV team.

1st: Il2 favors NV, so if you upgrade for IL2 only, the choice is obvious.

2nd: I dont think you would see ANY improvement. your 4870 is already more than enough for the job as far as fps go - is the code, not the card.

(you can have 580s SLI and I guarantee you, when you drop a nuke on a city you'll get a slideshow)

Since you're considering to update for IL2 - then go with a CPU. IL2 is much more CPU bound than GPU.

Jes the GC is primarily for IL2. Later maybe for Il2 - Battle for britain, when it comes out.

now I'm a little confused...

Rest specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE OC 3,8 Ghz
ASUS ROG Crosshair III Formula
Patriot 1600 BE cl.7 8GB

Thx for answers.

CPU is fine for now, as we don't now if BoB makes any use of hexas.

If you want the GPU for BoB too, maybe you should wait for its release and the first results with different cards.
