Patching 1946 that was purchased on Steam

My nephew purchased 1946 through Steam, and I was wondering if there would be any issues (Steam related) updating with patches 4.8 and 4.9? Also, is there any direct links to both patches?

Steam should automatically have updated to 4.09, mine did.
