Scouting - does it show items on Adventure map?
 

One of the nice new things in AP was that on the adventure map, you could now see items (runes, gold, crystals, scrolls) shown with a small gold star - that way, I did not miss any stuff obscured by trees or rocks.

I always thought this was dependent of you having level III Scouting, but in Orcs on the March, I got to this skill level and the map still doesn't show anything... So, how does this work?

There was an official mod for AP that allowed you to see those stuff (Among other things). There still aren't any mods for Crossworlds though. I hope they make some soon. :)

BB, you probably played a game on normal difficulty. On easy and normal, treasure and such (flags, eggs, whatnot) show on the minimap, while on hard and impossible they do not show anymore.

Oh, I see. So its one of those difficulty setting things - like the leadership-overflow units turning hostile in battle. I wish these were explained somewhere. Thanks!

I think you can change it by editing logic.txt. IIRC it was boxradar option where you need to change 0 to 1.

Tried, sadly doesn't seem to work.

Just tried, it works... but you will need to start a new game, I think.
