SDL error (help me!)

Whenever I start the game I get this error saying

Not SDL fire! (esdreader.cpp,17
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>main
>file"@/profiles/lordbabypanda/settings.set"

I have reinstalled twice, I also removed all Men of war files from the
computer before installing again. Need help.

- Thanks.

Is this the full error? Are you using steam? And what language is your game in?

Lordwims 07-01-2010 10:31 AM

I am not using steam, I bought the game from gamersgate and I think the language is English. I did put a shortcut into steam to be able to chat with friends while playing. But the game is not bought trough Steam.

Go to C/Documents/My games/Men of War/profiles/Your profile name/
and delete the file "settings.set" (make a backup copy of it first just in case). Then restart Men of War and it should work. (This file isn´t deleted when de-installing and reinstalling the game and that´s why your error shows up even after a re-installing).

The "settings.set" file sometimes gets "hurt" when for example, MoW terminates during gameplay etc. I´ve had the same error only once and the above process fixed my error.

Thank you, but I am not sure if I did it right. I deleted the settings file inside the folder but I still get the error.

move the folder ...my documents/My games/Men of War/... to other location -> or rename the folder ...my documents/My games/Men of War/... -> start game and create new "gameprofile".

This game has the funniest commands and errors at times, meaning that its really hard to understand.

Something is not right, something vital that must work for everything else to work has failed. It is in your setting for sure. You will have to go into your profiles, and edit who the last user was. Set the last user to Player and if all goes well your problem should be fixed. If you don't want to try this or it doesn't work, contact 1C support.

Its not working, removing the settings.set file that is.
Should I rename my profile folder?
