Multiplayer questions
Hi,
I'm thinking about buying men of war, but I mainly want to play multiplayer battles, so here are some questions. 1. Wich game has the most multiplayer battles, men of war, or the stand-alone expansion red tide? I read some reviews, wich said Red tide didn't add a whole lot and wasn't better then men of war, but since I mainly want to play multiplayer, I was just wondering wich game you need to own to play the most multiplayer. 2. Are there any clans/teams out there that still recruit people and battle against each other? I player World in conflict for sometime, and I really enjoy the cooperation and planning required for these multiplayer battles. 3. Last question, kind of hard to answer I guess, but how hard is it too get up to speed with the more experienced players, since this game is rather old? I have quite some experience with strategic games, and can mirco ok, not very fast tho. But what's the difficult level of multiplayer play currently and how complex is this game, considering I have average intelligence. |
1. Red Tide dont have multiplayer. Red Tide is only a singleplayer stand-alone-addon.
2. there are some Clans - but you dont need a clan-member to play MoW online. when you play multiplayer periodic, you will find friends verry fast. 3. hmmm. hard to answer. 1st you should play with players who are also "new" in MoW. but best is playing in team with players who have experience - how to learn useing/handling different units. i think western community/players are very helpful. you can also ask players with experience makeing a "testgame" & give you tips playing online. how complex is the game? hmmm. look for "ingame" movies at YouTube. you will find enough videos & show you how MoW is working. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXyC5BCvYRk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxBO_...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTpeY...eature=related |
If you want the most out of multiplayer, you shouldn't buy RT as it doesn't have MP. So you should buy Men of War, but you may also want to buy Assault Squad when it is released, as most of it is MP.

I’ve been playing the MP for about 3 weeks (about 90 battles). I do generally match your description as a gamer, apart from the fact that MoW is the only RTS I’ve ever wanted to play, esp online.
I normally play with my friends (500 battles each) and I find it very hard to beat them. Why? 1. They know every single unit in the game and know the general nation strategy (they know what to buy and what not to buy; when to play defensively and when to play offensively) 2. They know the maps by heart (they rush to the strategic points and know very well where to position their troops best). It takes them less time so they have more time for harassing my line. 3. They are better with direct control. It is a must to get mastered, esp for throwing nades, for binoculars and firing artillery and tanks. Perfect strategy is not enough in this game. You need to be good at micro-management. And you need luck, esp with heavy guns. Sometimes they damage and sometimes they miss or do nothing. Anyway, it is quite an exciting game that encourages you to think and plan a lot. |
