how to land on xbox the spit mkIX in sim mode with a joystick??????

hey guys!!
did someone manage to land the spit mkIX with a joystick without tilting at 31mph????
i manage it, but only approximately one of ten tries. the other nine i tilt and the nose is digging in the ground.
with other planes its no problem to land with the joystick but the spit is horrible to land.
if someone could help me, i would appreciate that very much.thx

Have a look at this thread

Should help you out

thx i know this thread!!!
but it doesnt really explain how to land successfully with a joystick, but only with the gamepad. i have no problems to land the spit with the gamepad but with my av8r joystick i only manage to land it one of ten tries. its really frustrating me that i cant land my favorite plane. and i dont want to use the gamepad anymore cause once you fly with a joystick you know that it makes much more fun.

I use a TM Hotas, I give myself a nice long slow approach then try to land at around 30% throttle and once the wheels touch i very slowly return the the stick to centre whilst decreasing the power very slowly, there's a little wobble where it feels like it's gonna tip but if you just leave the stick alone it's usually ok.

I'm no expert in sim btw but this seems to work ok for me.

i to use that stick now and yes that sounds about right . one thing to remember is that is all about the approach with the spit you have to bring her down gentle you cant just push the nose down and hope for the best

ok i tried that!!!
and sometimes it really works, but i still only manage to land the spit about one of ten tries.besides in my opinion its very hard to land with 30% throttle because you ascend again if you pull the stick slightly back.so with 30% throttle i usually touch down and climb again.if you want to prevent that climb you have to put the nose down which often results in digging the nose in the ground. at 20% throttle it seems perfect to touch down, cause the spit is slowly descending while have the nose slightly pulled up.so i try to approach at 30%throttle and right before touch down i reduce it slowy to about 25-22%. but even my most velvet and softest touch downs mostly end up in tilting.
do you really touch down at 30% and remain on the ground, or do you throttle down under 30% right before touch down???and how often do you manage to land the spit without tilting winny?????

Landing the Spit on a stick is very difficult to do on the short runways. The method I use is to touch down at around 100 mph or slightly less and know the exact altitide of the particular runway I am approaching. I let the speed drop to around 35 -40 mph and maintain that speed, once the plane settles on all three wheels, with speed still over 35mph I use rudder and fire guns and pull the stick back, the nose suddenly tips slightly forwards but if you maintain the forward speed at 35 mph it usually settles back on its rear tail and you can then set the throttle to 0 ..Manston is the best one for practicing on.......

thx see!!!!
now that works!!!!!!i tried it and the second try was a successfull landing!!!!the only difference is that i dont pull the stick back while firing the guns, cause that leads to tilt over!!!but if i just let the stick in the center and fire the guns as you said it works every time and even on the short runways its no problem to come to a stand still. thx very much, now im really happy, beeing able to land my lovely spit IX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

once your firmly on the ground and decelerating just dont pull back on the stick anymore. take your hands off it.

for me, using this method, the plane still kicks forward slightly round 30mph but not enough to wreck.

i had problems with this a while back also
