Question about most up to date version

I bought Men of War & Red Tide on Steam, after LOVING Faces of War and I went to check out the multiplayer on MoW.

Well needless to say, I couldn't join like any games due to the versions being different.

And when I looked, all the others sayd like "1.6.x" or something, and mine was 1.11.x or something.

I'm just curious if the Steam version is up to date... or if I can get a patch somewhere.

Thanks.

most up to date version I know of is 1.16.4. Any other version numbers you see there are prolly people playing Mods

1.02 = final relase (hardcopy)
1.022.1 = final release (gamersgate)
1.11.3 = official patch or steam version
1.16.4 = inofficial patch (1.11.4 -> using wrong executable)

1.16.1 = Men of War: Assault Squad (new game -> only testphase)

playing with mods dont change gameversion.

here is link to 1.16.4 version: <<< Klick Me >>>
dont forget starting game with "Outfront_mp.exe" after patching to 1.16.4.

I know this is an old bump, but I didn't think it would be right to make a new topic so yeah.

I just launched MoW's multiplayer, I updated yesterday, and it says I am version 1.11.4

I know that 1.11.4 is my SP version... but I am not 1.16.4 on MP at all.

I used your download BolliBomber.

Anyway you could help me out here?

EDIT: Odd, if I start up MoW normally through Steam, it stays as 1.11.4 even on MP.

But if I manually launch MP from the Steam directory, it's 1.16.4.

Is there a way I can make it launch as 1.16.4 for MP, even if I launch it normally?

I don't want to have to relaunch the game every time I want to play MP.

EDIT 2: On top of that, it won't let me change my settings in the MP one. I hit apply and everything, and I even restarted the game, but it just reverts back.

I'm probably going to patch back because this seems to be an utter mistake.

1.16.4 works only when y start game with outfront_mp.exe from folder where game is installed. outfront_mp.exe is only for multiplayer. singleplayer is deactivated.

when y want play singleplayer start game with mow.exe. with this executable y will get 1.11.4.

changing settings in game (eg. soundsettings, keysettings...) have only effect to this version y have started.
changing settings in outfront_mp.exe dont have effects when y launch game with mow.exe.
why? outfront_mp.exe & mow.exe save gamesettings into different folders.

folder for gamesettings:
mow.exe -> ...my documents/my games/men of war/...
outfront_mp.exe -> ... my documents/my games/outfront2 a2/...

make a shortcut from y outfront_mp.exe -> rename it (e.g. Men of War - Multiplayer) -> copy shortcut to desctop

I'm aware of that now, but I launch MP and change my settings and hit apply and... nothing changes.

I restart MP and it still doesn't work.

Ok forget trying to make this work, help me out now.

I want to unpatch, back to 1.11.3.

I just reinstalled Men of War and... it kept my profile and anything but... it's still 1.11.4.

How do I go back to 1.11.3?

Its 1.11.4 because of the "4.pat" file that wasnt deleted by uninstaller. Try to rename or delete this file. But it seems your first written problem of steam is caused by starting the "old" mp.exe. I think you can solve this, when you rename the startfiles. It should be: the outfront_mp.exe into mow_mp.exe. Because steam should start the multiplayer with mow_mp.exe? (cant help you more because i dont have steam running)

Yeah it's fine.

I just ended up reinstalling and renaming the 4.pat file (I only found out how easy it was to just rename the file, AFTER I uninstalled).

Even when I launched MP correctly like you said, nothing would work and my settings wouldn't save.

Even when I just said "screw it" and played on MP, there were about 5 games showing in the lobby and I could join none of them.

So, forget it.
