NPJava131.dll
Secunia is reporting that the file NPJava131.dll, present in IL-2's bin folder, is at its "end of life" and is insecure. I suppose that is understandable, the file is dated 8-26-2002. It apparently is a Netscape plug-in.
On my own system I've marked it as "ignore" in Secunia's PSI security scanner but I don't know how wise that really is, nor whether NPJava131.dll serves any useful purpose in the program (IL-2). Does anyone have any information that can shed a light on the importance (or not) of the "end of life" issue with this particular java plug-in? I've been unable to locate an update for it, although doing so is probably beyond my level of expertise. |
The IL2 java file system is native to IL2 only.
You will find changing/updating the IL2 java files can stop the program from working. Generally you should leave these files alone as they are part of the internal workings of IL2. |
Thanks for that answer, Alpha. I'll simply leave the file marked as "ignore".
