Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain is the ultimate chickflick (maybe just topped by Love Story). Nothing wrong with that, but I'm sure the makers of the game didn't intent to do homage to such a movie.

@Petwin: Exactly my thought. But that is also why I had to register to this forum just to make this post. ;)

I kinda had to watch the movie last week due to my gf, and yesterday it just snapped to me; princess Amelie IS Amelie Poulain. hahah.
