When will we be getting the "Gift Package" in english?

If you go to the kingsbounty.ru the first piece of news you see is a holiday release patch that adds 50 or so items and some other stuff which I didnt translate all that well.

I suppose we will be getting it AFTER the holydays right?

Good question, it looks like fun! I hope we get those cute little fluffy ear muffs shown on the site!

Actually, you can use them with the english version too. I ran the file and when I entered the game, there was a small "campaign selection" window. If you run the pack, you can only start a new game, existing games won't be affected. I did the tutorial and already at the magic academy a new item (Dragon Eye) is for sale. (for 150.000 gold mind you). I expect item description will be in russian, but you can use Google translate for that.

Its not exactly inspiring to copy the tooltip text and google translate and rework it.

Too bad there is a seeming lack of coordination between the english and russian game publishers.

given the fact that english version is more expensive than the russian one and sells much better, I don't understand this either. how long can it take to translate 50 items and modify the patch? 1-2 hours at most.

maybe they wanted to test it and only afterwards to modify it for english users.

The devs are on vocation now, English version will be available right after holidays.

The programmers speak russian, so they do that version first. It isn't like they have an infinite sized company. And heck, this is probably just a cool idea that they had round the coffee table one day. To be honest, as someone who had not expected any more dev-made work, I am really happy to find out they will be passing out a FREE quasi expansion pack. Makes me feel vindicated in purchasing the product at just about full price.

Is there a list with the new items and what stats or effects they have ?

speaking about ideas round the coffee table, I wish they do something about the armies you change (when you want to do that, I mean), like selling them, or turning them into other troops (with some penalties and money, of course).

Nike-it: that's great news. thanks.

I don't like this suggestion at all. Part of the strategy is knowing how to select your armies and figuring out what to do with them if you need to swap them around. Being able to simply trade them destroys this aspect of the game.

And yea the griping over the this pack being in Russian is a bit harsh. This was obviously a freebie and so it is natural that the developers did it in their native language. Translation would be nice but hardly a requirement or cause for resentment.

Anyways hopefully the game sells well enough for a third incarnation :)
