What is boom and zoom?
 

Sorry if I seem a bit nooby but I've heard this term alot on the forum, and don't know what it means. Could someone please enlighten me?

Basically, you take a fast plane, fly high above your target and some distance away, come flying in at high speed, then when you are in range, you unleash a burst of fire on your target, then use the energy you gained from coming in at high speed to climb away and set up another run if needed.

It's the exact opposite of what IL-2 was before the patch :D lol.

From what I've heard, there wasn't much point in trying boom and zoom, since everyone was in a turn fest. But now with black/redouts that is probably going to change.
