Single Missions in Simulator

Do you get any unlocks if you finish single missions in simulator?

Also, anyone else have problems in single missions on sim with the map button? Very annoying. When I select map it will not close without hitting the back button then it puts you in cockpit view every time. Its annoying as hell.

No you don't unlock anything for doing single mission in simulator. And yeah the map is annoying, but my annoyance came from the AI flying my plane while I was looking at the map. I think there's some sort of system where if you tap the map button you need to tap again to get out, but if you hold it, you can get out just by releasing it. Give that a try, but I'm not sure it works 100%...

When you exit the map, it takes you back to whatever view is set as the default in your settings options. Change it there and it'll take you back to virtual cockpit if you wish.

You do get a gold trophy once you finish all campaign and single missions on sim.

I think the map turns to toggle instead of hold to try to get players to look for targets the simulation way instead of holding the map up and turning till they're pointed right at it, then looking in front of them. In real life, if you stop to look at your map, you won't be able to look where your plane is going either.

There is one mission in particular, I can't think off hand what it's called, but it's in Ardennes, you have a p51 and three wingmen, and your objective is to locate and destroy 3 bunkers at night. The map will show you where they are, but it's useless otherwise, so it's in toggle mode. To hit the bunkers, you have to fly low several times, and just look for them. It takes forever but it's realistic.

One of the bunkers is so well-hidden that it took me about 40 minutes total to find it.

i figured out the map thing. Its only on missions with "Tactical Respawns" When you have the map open you can switch between your pilots still in the air. But like you say it's very annoying. Especially on Sim when it's the only way to see where people are

The trophy (and I'm guessing achievement too) is only for completing the campaign on sim. You don't need to do the single missions...
