Beautiful stuff :)

Very nice. I used to go to airshows when I was a kid and not give a damn about the ww2 fighters. I'd be like "When are the jets coming!" or "Wow, these are boring."

After this game, I have a whole new outlook on these beauties. :)

Did you take them at the EAA Air Adventure?

Wow - those are some nice shots. Did you take them, or were they bought? And whatever that is in the video looks like its really struggling to get off the ground. Must have been impressive to see whole flights of them in the war... As long as they were friendly.

My dad used to drag me to airshows all the time, and I wasn't that interested in the planes at that age, but I did really like low flyovers by jets that rattle your chest so you can't breathe... sweet. He let me sit in the cockpit of his Vulcan one time too. He didn't find my desire to flick all the switches that funny though lol.

nope, the first photoa of petie the 2nd and the b-17 prop were taken in waukesha, wi at a little airshow (so was the video at the end). the rest of the photos were taken at thunder over michigan (just outside of detroit) this past summer. ;)

thanks! i took them with my little nikon s600 point and shoot camera. that video at the end is a B-17 taking off, my friend. ;)

i agree with you guys about the airshows. as a kid, i always loved watching the jets (still do). since i've gotten older, i've developed a fond appreciation of ww2 history and the planes that flew during the war. every year, i go to airshow at the lakefront of chicago to watch the action.

But i've also started traveling to catch warbirds at airshows. i traveled to the airshow in michigan for the sole purpose of being able to see a Bf-109 in person, but it was sadly out of commission and couldn't make an appearance. nevertheless, i managed to still see a lot of great planes at that show (spits, a hurricane, a corsair, a hellcat, an avro lancaster, etc). well worth the travels, in my opinion. :)

This is me in a nutshell, I love to see the jets but I love to see the older planes now more.
