Saitek SN-PS41 Flight stick.
Hello everybody!
I'm a newbie here (virgin!) & this is my first post so please be gentle with me! I've just purchased this flight stick & am just getting used to it. I find it responsive & it performs well. There is one problem though. The camera lock on M1 setting is the far right button. If I'm using my right hand on the stick & my left to control the throttle this means I have to leave the throttle to depress the button & hold. Then I have no throttle control.Where am I going wrong guys? Cheers! |
When the patch hits we'll be able to customise controls. As it is now the game wasn't designed with that stick in mind, and even the ones it does take into account have their individual shortcomings, so it having a layout that you can use at all is probably on the right side of lucky. Assuming you're on PS3 if you're getting this to work at all, so the patch should have plenty of stick and keyboard-related extras for you.

Thanks for your reply matey, I'm playing on the XBOX 360 & this flight stick is linked by the makers for IL*2 Sturmovik. So i'm still concerned :-(

I think you are referring to the Saitek AV8R flight stick. The buttons are on the rear and you have to leave the throttle in a set postion to use them. You are stuck with this and, even if a future patch update allowed you to remap the function the buttons, they are and will continue to be in the wrong place.
It is possible (and realtively cheap, easy) to add press button switches close to the throttle but this will invalidate your guarantee. Mine is modded and if it fails I will just buy another one but I can now use the stick far more comfortably and access target camera, zoom and cockpit view without leaving the throttle. |
Welcome to the forum. Hopefully the patch will give you what you desire with the remapping of controls.
