How to play online?

Anyone have any tips to make sure I get a game?
Tonight I was getting the "server is not available" message.

This game is pretty good, I think ALL the cockpits would be nice, and I enjoy online gaming - but if it's just campaign mode, then I will be disappointed.

server not available isnt a problem with the servers, it just means that no games are currenty in the lobby waiting to be launched. Though games could be in progress.

Best bet is to check friends list, see if anyone else is playing first, and get into their games...more the merrier.

Or

just keep trying for a few mins refreshing the page to see if any games turn up. Though at the mo you'll be hard pressed to find one im afraid. Good luck though, when you find a game its superb to play:D

I will write down all the tags I see, and when I am on next, will be adding people like crazy.

My XBOX tag is bettyx9

Many players are on hiatus from the game until the patch arrives (myself included, although part of that maybe because I have no more XBL Gold left:P). So there may be less players then normal, but there are still some guys kicking around, you just need to get 'em on your friends list.

Something about this thread seems "staged". LOL

Hey, whatever works.

Still not expecting a patch anytime soon.

I have no clue what this means.

All I want to know is how to find people online to play this game. It's not like Call of Duty with well over 100000 people at any given time and servers that are mch easier to pick up a game on.

I've got a tip for you to get a guaranteed game....

1) Go to your PC,

2) Order IL-2 1946 Forgotten Battles for £6 or $10, of 7 Euro's depending where you're from.

3) Install

4) Play, guaranteed game, even with a low budget PC due to game's age, still has acceptable graphics, but 100's of people online all at the same time, with true realism settings and everything WORKS, no crappy physics, no bullshit armaments or ugly paint schemes, no Crash / Kill problems, just 100 working gaming fun!

With the risk of getting 'stop acting like a mod!!11!1!' thrown at me again, I'd like to kindly request you'd stop selling 1946 on this forum. I've got no problems with it usually, especially in the 'What's the most up to date flight sim' thread, but it's getting a bit out of hand with you.
It's a good game, better than BoP in a couple of ways, but that's not a reason to rant on and on about it in every single thread. The OP was asking about BoP, and wasn't asking about 1946 in any way.

P.S. Robert, you can add me as well (GT = Ancient Seraph), but I'm not playing a lot atm.

RobertHammyGrayVC 11-01-2009 04:13 PM

Sloppy - thanks, will add you later today!

House - I have a Mac. And ZERO interest in 1946. I would agree with Ancient Seraph on this one; the forum is for Birds of Prey, and the more we band together to at least play BOP, the less we will need other games.

Thanks all who answered, I will be sending out friend requests this afternoon!
