Rockets do NO damage to landed planes

Many a times I had fired 4 RS 132 rockets on landed planes(CTA) and they did not even seem to scratch the planes. What gives???

Usually people miss with rockets, probably because the convergence is a bit weird. The missiles land on both sides of the landed plane.

The rockets aren't very accurate at all. Keep in mind that this is a decade or two before "smart" weapons... I only use them against legitimate ground targets, and they come in handy downing heavy bombers.. But other than that, they are pretty much useless unless you can figure out a way to get them on target.. A plane on the ground is a small target to try and hit with such an un-accurate weapon..

That said.. They are rockets, not missiles...

Yeah, they work but very little splash damage, if any at all. You really need a direct hit.

Lord-Tuinboy 10-25-2009 06:07 PM

Just fire a few at a time that usually works. And it's not like you can land and rearm anyway which is such a same :(

I really wish you could choose when hosting to start of from the airfield !

I think they work better than bombs during strike IF you're using a fighter because you can use them on bombers.

Then that is it...they work but NO splash damage!!! What the heck..NO splash damage is just just DUMB and yet another stupid thing wrong with this game. Rockets, or various types, had some devastating splash damage that could easily destroy a plane even if not a direct hit.

BBBLLLAAAAA..........

Maybe try firing four or five? That's sure to get them. If it doesn't, then well I guess we're just out of luck.

The dilemma with rockets is that they're either over- or underpowered. Can you imagine rockets doing splash damage? You just aim and shoot, guaranteed hit. No one would be able to capture an airfield anymore. At least with bombs it takes a bit of practice to be able to use them right.

I think they will be ok if they give them a small splash damage (anywhere 2 meters close to the plane = kill). And also limit the amount of rockets you carry in case of unlimited ammo. If you carry 6 rockets under your wing, you should have 6 to fire in any game mode/game setting. not 32!

+1 for that. ;)
