low lod for aircrafts tuned, will it help me?

hey guys,

Im not such an expert in this stuff, so i figured I would ask you guys.
In the title update there will be: low lod for aircrafts tuned (to be more visible on SD resolutions).

Now, I do have a monitor hooked up to my xbox, but its a pretty old 15" screen. I have started playing sim mode since this week, but I am forced to play realistic, because I just cant see the planes on my screen :(.
Mostly because my screen is just, well, small :P.

Do you guys know if this upcomming 'fix' will also make the planes more visible on my small monitor? (cause I have no idea what this fix is doing :P)
When you see a plane in the distance, it is a pretty obvious black dot (wich even I can see ;)), but when it comes closer, it is completely invisible. Will the fix prolong the appearance of the big dot?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but if you live in the UK, Macro did an Akura 32" Plasma TV for £200. If they don't still do it, check their bargains section, There is one in Portsmouth and one in Leicester, I'm sure there's a boat load of Macros around the country but I've been to these two.

anyway point being hunt around and you can get a 26"-36" TV for between £150-£250. If you have some savings it might be a wise investment.

Thanx for the advise, but I indeed kind of have 0 budget for a new screen. And even if I had, I wouldnt buy a new one. I'm studying in spain, but live in holland, cant have any more stuff here that I have to ship back ;).

soooo, plz anyone... tell me my 15" angel will do the job after the fix :rolleyes:

low level of detail... as far as i know, that why i supposed it is about the black dot you see when a plane is far away

LOD = Level of Detail.

low Level Of Detail I THINK the fix will be to allow the plane to be seen sooner, but in a simplified (fewer polygons) 'model' at distance.

This is actually what's happening now. The problem is the planes just disappear for a while after switching to high lod, for players with lower quality screens. So first you see a nice black dot, then nothing, then the plane when it's really close.

I dont want to see it sooner, I STILL want to see it when it comes closer :P. just hate it to be able to see someone at 4km, but him being invisible at 2km. makes no sence :confused:

sooner is ok, but the ability to still see it up close, is what I was hoping for
