IL-2 to hit 3rd Dimension on PS3 next year!
Well actually a lot of games could next year with a system firmware update and the right TV (specifically a Sony Bravia).
In summary the PS3 needs to render only one image but also send depth information for that image to the TV via HDMI. The TV will then produce images for the left and right eye. Apparently this method of data transmission will only work with the PS3 slim as it has modified hardware that utilizes a feature called 'Bravia Sync' allowing TV and console to communicate additional data. Undoubtedly these 3D TV 's will cost the earth when they come out, but of course will come down in time. It's all early days, but exciting times are ahead... http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming...mes-3d--634892 |
