Whats the strangest/most unprobable kill you have had?

I was playing a strike mission last night on realistic and shot down a Spitfire with the REAR gun in my STUKA! I am not known for my marksmanship to begin with, my goodness I feel sorry for that poor fellow.

That's....that's really not unlikely. I shoot down enemy planes with the rear guns in bombers all the time.

I agree with you, but we are talking about a Stuka here. The rear gun is a single 7.92. The Stuka is probably the easiest bomber in the game to take down. Should have been easy prey for a Spit MK IX. I was thinking of how lucky I was so i decided to post about it. :-P

I was feeling fairly cocky and pulled in right behind a small group of HE-111s. I was taking hell from the gunners but put everything I had into the bomber on the left side of the formation. He burst into flames and rolled to the right and straight into the machine next to him. Two for one! Unfortunately, my engine was destroyed in the process and my wings were like swiss cheese. I stayed in the machine to watch the two beasts fall and then bailed out.

I love this game!

This is true. I normally play dogfight on sim and when I see someone going in as a bomber, especially the He 111 H-6, I dread the encounter. It is very difficult to avoid the gunners and even if you get the kill my plane is normally wrecked. The Stuka, as mattman has said, is much easier. One because it's not so heavily armed with a small shooting radius and second I think because as it is more manoeuvrable than a large bomber who normally fly in straight lines, players might get tempted into a turning fight which they have little chance of winning against a fighter. Also the more they move around the harder it is for them to shoot the other plane. Therefore to down a spit took great skill.

Very well, I gladly stand corrected

I was playing an arcade match (Hey, you try finding a Sim match at 4 in the morning), in my IL-10, and fired off a rocket at an enemy that I was chasing. Of course, it missed. Three thousand feet later though...Boom! It hits an entirely different enemy plane. Pure luck there, all luck, but it was awesome for me.

STUKA's are extremely well armed!! they are not as easy to shoot down as they should be, they take alot of hits before falling to earth in flames.

On a side note.....

The arc of fire from a stuka is rather limited, so 10/10 on your kill, well played mate ;)

Try attacking at a 90 degree angle and using deflection. Or try diving from above.

lol, sometimes when playing games with limited ammo, after my machine guns are done, I sometimes try firing my rockets at enemies like they're sidewinders. It never works. :P

I was wondering though, if your chasing someone very low over the ground, and you fire a rocket at the ground right beneath them, might the impact be able to take them down?
