Blenheim Throttle

On the Blenheim throttle quadrant it indicates fuel mix when full forward is weak, the normal level is indicated (about 50%) and I presume full rear is rich. The display indicates mix is 100% when "full forward", i.e., rich.

Is this a typical fuel mix back-to-front issue that is/was common in other aircraft?

thx

Historically the labelling is correct. LEAN forward, RICH Back. These settings are not incremental or vernier type. Its either one or the other. In both cases there is an AUTO barometric function to lean the mixture with altitude. These settings should be thought of as "Mixture modes"..... AUTO RICH and AUTO LEAN

AUTO RICH for High power settings ... allows additional fuel to cool the charge.

AUTO LEAN for lower power settings. IRL there was a max boost (+1.5lbs) for use in Auto LEAN/WEAK

The same goes for both the Spitfire and Hurricane. Though in the case of the Spitfire the SIM animation has been reversed.
