Is it possible to carry a heavy mgun by a truck?

So this is my question. I tried loading it but I couldn't. How about a mortar?

Most mortars were moved back in forth in combat behind the infantry. Hurrah for Indirect explosives.

In game, you can't attach a HMG to a truck like a Pak40 or similar cannon, neither can you hoist it into the truck.

It's a shame coz on big maps that could be kinda usefull.

Yeah in big maps like Desert Airport its mostly all tank and heavy artillery, unless its Battlezones or Victory Flag, then having mortar is really fun.

GSM FOH2 mod has a Zis 5 w/ a Quad Maxim MG in its cargo area and there are dudes using it....that was pretty awesome. So, my guess is if you knew how to mod it in, it is possible but normally nope...no MGs on trucks haha

Yes its possible in many ways to carry a heavy MG by truck now that I think of it. In normal game you can't port something like a mounted MG42 but you can carry things like that Soviet 14.5mm PKP by a simple motorcycle.

In a mod we can do this but unless we make new models, animations etc it will be unrealistic.

considering the nature of heavy machineguns on a tripod it should be possible though and very easy to load them on a truck/vehicle and simply drive it to the front. Its sad this hasnt been done for the game.

The way I see it is that if you pull a MG42 by a motorcycle is that all it will do is drag, get dirt in it and jam. If you add wheels to the tripod all it will do is fall back and pin you down when you shoot it.

not a motorcycle but a truck or jeep should do fine.

I think that he means put it IN the truck, not tow it like anti-tank guns or artillery.
