Figured I'd just recycle this topic.
BACKUP REMINDER: Most of these mods are simply extract-overwrite, so make a backup of your Star Wolves 3 \Data\ folder and subfolders before you install any of them just in case you screw things up. Elio - Grados
I am encountering a problem as it seems. I just started a new game and i was at the point where you are in Elio to fix your ID. I choose to go over Hephaestus when asked but merely went there to destroy the shining turrets. After having done so i returned to Elio to sell them (55K at smuggler base < 89K at Elio grid station) and I figured that I could go over Gredos to save time. I enter portal, loading screen loads up fine, ship appears, and i press TAB...Game Crashes. Just wanted to mention this.
Update: Happens in Aurora as well...seems map and the newly added "Remove Laggy Fog/Dustclouds" Mod does not get along with my game. |
Hmm, a new game should run fine with the No Dustclouds mod. Bad/incompatible saves don't even load, you usually get a "save file is corrupt" error, so I doubt it's that mod. Strange. We could try looking at what exactly is causing your crash; open your game folder and find a file named LOGfile.txt and post it here (get it immediately after a crash because the game overwrites it every time you start).

Thanks for the new link! The filefront one works for me too now. Last week the link redirected me to gamefront and it said the file was not found. (must've been some problem on their end) Oh well :)

is there a mod to add russian voices to english SW3? i install the english voice and it was great, but i just want to hear the russian one

Just to say that your missile mod makes the game almost impossible to get past the NESF when trying to change the id on the mastif i have it on hard mode and its pretty much instant death when those 3 ships start shooting shields are down in 1 salvo add to that if my fighters die when out they are put into escape pods whitch i cant go back to pick up as il die...tryed 10+ times now to get past them its very frustraiting.

It's doable.
Not sure if you're refering to the patrols in... Argon?, or the one that stops you at the hephaestus gate, so I'll give you tips for both. 1) Yes, trying to take them on atm, unless you have at least t2 countermeasures is pretty much straight up death. So don't. While you're in the Pirate mastiff, pirates are neutral to you. Use this to sneak around the system's edge and get at the hephestus gate from behind. With a t2 radar, you can time it just about rght to slip between the coverage of the three patrols. Once you're in hephestus, just move away from the gate. The NESF patrol's radar is about as good as yours, so play ostrich ('if I can't see you, you can't see me'), and you should be okay. 2, and very important in Hard mode) DISABLE FIGHTER AUTO-LAUNCH. This saves you a lot of aggravation when you get jumoed as soon as you enter a system. Of course, there are times when auto-launching helps, so pause whenever you enter a system, which'll give you the few seconds you need to figure out what's going on; so you can decide intelliganelt whether you're better off launching or not. (Since you can't cancel a launch order, you're better off not having it issue in the first place.) 3) The patrol's 'spawn, advance, talk, attack' script runs in real-time. Increase the game-speed when you move away, and they'll be out of sight before they even finish talking. tl;dr: gl hf :) |
does the mothership mod still work and if it does where do i buy the ships or do i need to start a new game inorder to get them?

I think it still works. You can buy motherships at the maintenance stations. No need to start a new game.

Great Work All!
Just wanted to post my thanks to all you guys for the neat Mods. I haven't installed them yet, as I just picked up SW3 recently (am a huge SW1 fan), and am playing through a vanilla game first. Have them all downloaded though, and after reading through all the descriptions and seeing the screenshots, I am really looking forward to giving them a go in the not too far future. Once again, KUDOs to you guys for posting these, and all your great info and advice! :grin:

Are these mods only for the 1.12 version or will they work with the 1.11 version of game.
I'm not able to get 1.12 version working correctly so I just use the standard version that comes with game which says 1.11. |
IIRC most of the mods were made before patch 1.12 so they are generally for v1.11.

Just got MP 1 and after extracting it, in game i got this:

Make fresh install and replace all tiny folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Company\Star Wolves 3 - Civil War\Data\LocData\English\Voice

So im having some serious problems getting these mods to work, on the download link that still works it takes me to filefront, but there's like 7 files to get, and how do I get them in? when I unzip them they are in folders, do I leave them there? to I take them out? do I just put them in the game folder? or the data folder? also I saw some people saying these mods dont work on the newer version? I have no idea what version I have I bought it off steam. is it because of steam they dont work? I had the files out of their folders and in the data folder and the game wouldnt start, then I just had them all in the game folder and it still wouldnt start, I have no idea what im doing wrong or whats going on and I really want to get these mods to work.

Mod voice pack update
Hello all (if there's still someone :rolleyes:)
I was re-intalling SW3 and I got annoyed that there where no voices at all in the game. I searched for some mod to fix this issue, and I found out that I already made my own mod 7 Years ago ! lol So I've made a new updated VOICE PACK It will now include the Quests & Trade Voicing from Russian edition (better Russian than nothing at all...) As before, you just have to copy/paste the files in your current location "Star Wolves 3 Civil War\Data\LocData\English" And replace TRADE, QUESTS and VOICE repertory I didn't put out the TEXTS but you should already have it in English so it will not change from your current configuration There's two links, I hope both will work :-P http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wolv...vil-war/addons https://www.dropbox.com/s/5y42cvd7s5...0Pack.zip?dl=0 Have fun ! |
nice work.
I did similar for my SW1 too, english versions is acusticaly little poor. But for now i use just russian version, it is compactible with many russian mods for sw1. |
