Will the earlier canopy version be added?

No...

In early 1938, the first examples were delivered to the Regia Aeronautica. Italian pilots did not like the enclosed canopy because it could not be opened quickly and as it was constructed from plexiglass of very poor quality prone to cracking, limiting visibility.[12] Consequently, in the second batch of 200 machines, an open cockpit was installed. After 1939, the main production was shifted to the CMASA factory in Marina di Pisa, Tuscany.[13]

As you can see there were only 200 with a canopy in 1938... I expect they were also modified to open pit aswell. Time is a valuble resource to the small team of devs at 1C:MG. To embark upon adding this variant would be wasteful at best.

I wish they would add the Macchi 200 which is very similar except the bottom of the Fuselage is rounded plus the blister bumps on the cowl .. Same era though

Maybe, but nobody has produced any add-on aircraft for CloD yet so I would not hold my breath.

Don't misunderstand, I would love to see add-on content from professional and amateur devs for CloD, but so far there have only been a couple of 3rd party campaigns made available. I don't know if 3rd parties even have access to all the information they would need to make a plane for CloD (yet).
