Mkubani, let me know if you guys need mirrors.
PM if you need help, I have 3 domains ready for takeoff...

Also MaxMhz has a point.
Torrents are a good alternative.

Other
Quick Mission Builder with new features
Updated new default skin pack
Parachutes are not AAA target anymore
Navigational lights turned off during flight by AI planes
Pylon/bomb racks weight fixed -> better climb and takeoff performance for planes armed with external ordnance

Corrections in Flight Models (by Maddox Games)
MC-200 increased airframe drag-> reduced speed
P-11c corrected rudder roll response. Previously left rudder was inducing right roll and vice versa.
Ta-152C wing area corrected from Fw 190D-9 values (~1.2m²) -> slightly improved turn performance
DB-603L critical altitude increased from 9200m to 10200m.

Changes in Graphics (by Maddox Games)
Increased buffer size for stationary objects (buildings etc.) to prevent freezes under some circumstances.
Colors of water corrected for Water=2,3,4 modes. Now when looking down it is no more black/dark blue.
Optimized Shaders for Nvidia 8X00 series video cards.
Added a new mode for increased visibility distance. Visibility increased from 36 km to 72km under "Clear" and
"Good" weather conditions.
Note: This mode is not optimized for performance: (freezes and low fps are possible on low-end systems).
This new feature is available only in "Perfect" game graphics mode.
Also, there is a possibility to have problems with clouds and their shadows at far distances, due to some engine limitations.
Modify your conf.ini string in the [Render_OpenGL] section to use this mode:
LandGeom=3 (new mode is ON)
LandGeom=2 (back to normal mode)

Daidalos Team would like to thank all external beta testers from the following virtual squadrons for their hard work: Letka 13, 6° Stormo Virtuale, 102nd-YU, 352nd VFG, Kraken, and Sean Trestrail

Giving us planes we cannot fly is like handing us the keys to a brand new Ferrari and telling us we cannot drive it.
I am not a big fan of A.I. only planes but am happy they are included so at least I can watch them shoot at me. ;)

Thanks for all the hard work.

Warhound 09-23-2009 12:38 AM

Pure and unadulterated SEX!

I especially like the random gunsight possibility, all tracers in one gun and openable doors...just shows the attention to detail.
The FM tweaks ,bombrack fixes and all the rest is lovely too.
And Learning that some maps have been worked on since 2003 and continually improved and polished.

Nothing but an immense thanks by all of us is in place here and for me it is THE best community patch I have ever seen in over 20years of avid gaming. Amazing it got an official stamp and testing, even more stunning that yet more SEX! is on the way. (sorry just can't call it goodness or something else as those are understatements..denigrating even :p)

THANK U to all involved and keep up the good work!

Thanks Team Daidalos and the beta testers. I have just read the brief - lots of great information with much dedication.

Looking forward to the new map versions and Slovakia Winter map.
The new aircraft (flyable and AI) will open up many new campaign possibilities. Thanks for the excellent historical information regarding the Bessarabia map - very interesting read.

Also liked all the changes to the flight sim, especially the nav lights being turned-off for AI aircraft and the Ta152C having a better turning performance.

Keep up the good work, looking forward to the download arriving.

Mirror

For those who may be having trouble downloading or obtaining either file, the 352nd VFG has mirrored both files here.

We will also mirror the patch when it is available, if permission is given to do so.

Happy landings,

I am more than happy to see the new content and the final versions of a beta that I've enjoyed flying since it was released. This has really been worth the wait and, for myself, I'll be glad to be able to start on a series of missions that will use the new maps. I've been planning it for a long time!!

Thank you to everyone involved in this project.

B

Thanks for the great work! With this patch I will start flying the virtual skies again!

Can't wait gents, thank you very much!

NeroMoura 09-24-2009 05:42 AM

I think I've been dreaming with a decent MTO ever since I first bought this game :D

csThor 09-24-2009 06:48 AM

@ NeroMoura

Be aware that the map named "MTO" is not a realistic depiction of said area. At the time of its creation Maddox Games was opposed to any realistic maps of the MTO. If that has changed is unknown to me (but I doubt it).

I wonder if that opposition would be based on the plans to expand a yet to be released title?

Hopefully, more than one mirror will be setup BEFORE formal announcement and server crashes are realized.

Remember, smart people usually make fewer mistakes, and wise people learn from theirs. It doesn't matter to me if they are smart or wise, but to display neither would be silly. ;)

I hope they'll make it available as Torrent also.

NeroMoura 09-24-2009 12:01 PM

In the old days I used to think that Skoshi's reply was the reason for it. Afterall the MTO was indeed a 'forgotten battle' as far as other sims were concerned. But then again, there's always hope that someday we might see a decent Northern Italy map to play around.

Also, MTO by definition would include north africa and there are separate maps for that. I don't it would be possible to make a map of the whole TO due to the great distances involved, but several maps of the same TO. At least that's the way I see it.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up csThor ;)

ElAurens 09-24-2009 04:37 PM

Nero, is that really you?

NeroMoura 09-24-2009 05:03 PM

Of course, Santa. What did you expect?

Is everyone else allright? You got news from the rest of the bunch? Read your PM's, old man! :P

And later on, let's set up some P-40 ownage on some online server ;)

Damn glad to see you again, EL!

ElAurens 09-24-2009 11:06 PM

Everone at the Pub has been asking about you.

I'll let them know.

P.S. Sorry about the thread hijack.

Been a while since I've seen this old friend.

NeroMoura 09-25-2009 04:37 AM

The Pub still exists?! Holy <foul word here>! Gimme the URL, please! Please! :D

mcmatt 01-24-2010 07:02 AM

What is the order of patches? Is this cumulative patch? Only to put in on 1946?
