DLC plane wish list...
hi, new to the forum (i appologize if there is allready a thread for this purpose)
just curious regarding what planes everyone wants added as DLC. here are mine: Bell P-39 Airacobra OR P-63 Kingcobra (pretty much the same). ok fighter but the soviets used them well for ground support. Curtis P-40 Warhawk Dornier 335 Pfiel (german for arrow): a pretty unique plane since it has an engine and propeller at the front AND back, so it's as fast as a 2-engine plane, but handles like a single-engine fighter. Macchi 205 Veltro: better version of the Macchi 202 Mikoyan Mig-3 Gloster G.41 meteor: a british jet that was deployed 2 weeks BEFORE the me-262 feel free to add your own suggestions ps. my name is my psn id |
Mosquito
Typhoon Lancaster Halifax P-51D ;P |
A P-51D with the flight model of a.... P-51D... is the plane on my wish list
|
1) LANCASTER
2) P-51D 3) P-47 (I heard it was only on xbox if you pre-ordered) Thats it...they all best be their too, for good reason they should be their!!!!!! |
P-39 in IL2 was a pleasure to fly. Its got that great cockpit with the side opening door, just so uniquely cool.
Its flight model was very...'twitchy' at first, but with experience flying it, it was a very manueverable little machine at low to mid alts. The quick roll rate surprised me! Perhaps it was a result of the mid-engined design. What a thrilling ride-takes some getting used to though-she will spin-out easily until you get her unique feel. Unlike any front engined plane. The mix of 3 different calibres makes gunnery a bit odd, again takes practice-not a beginners plane by any means, but very rewarding to suceed with her. Id love a P-38 too, .she loves to fight in the vert. But Ive never flown the IL2 version of her flight model. Any fly herin IL2 ? Comments? |
the mosquito and p38 are the only planes that are really great for DLC
The aircobra is garbage |

Disagree about the aircobra though. It's is good for it's novelty factor and should be included as a P-39N in the Italian Airforce. The Do-335 Pfeil would be fun to fly too for its weirdness. My other choses would be: Hawker Tempest De Haviland Hornet Avro Lancaster Gloster Meteor P-80A Shooting Star |
Where Do I Start? Just with "common" (no obscure prototypes or planes that didn't reach combat) planes for the campaigns already present in the game...
Allied: Hawker Typhoon Hawker Tempest P-38 Lightning DH98 Mosquito Bristol Beaufighter Westland Whirlwind B-25 Mitchell Boulton Paul Defiant Avro Lancaster Gloster Meteor Soviet: Petlyakov Pe-8 Tupolev Tu-2 MiG-3 Axis: MC 205 Veltro Fiat G.55 Centauro Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario Me 410 Hornisse Ju 88 SM79 Sparviero ... I could continue all night! |
I thought about putting the Defiant in my list, but in the game I think it would almost useless online. It wasn't heavily armoured like a stuka so you'd be shot down instantly if you tried using the guns on a pursuing fighter but as it had no other weapons you can do nothing else. All it was good for was shooting at bombers from infront, hidden from the nose gunners by the night. And the weight and drag of the turret made it handle like a pig.

British
Gloster Gladiator- Because it's a good Biplane. Italian Re-2000 Re-2002 Re-2001 Re-2005 Fiat CR.42 Fiat BR.20 Fiat G.50 MC 205 MC 200 German Ju-88 FW-200 American P-38 FM1 B24 Soviet MiG-1 MiG-3 MiG-5 I-15 I-15bis LaGG-3 |
Hawker Typhoon - ground attack plane/ low level interceptor
Hawker Tempest - Air Superiority Fighter de Havilland Mosquito - it did a bit of everything Avro Lancaster - Long Range Heavy Bomber B-24 Liberator - Long Range Heavy Bomber Chance Vought F4U Corsair (was used by Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm in Europe) |
Junkers Ju 88
Junkers 188 Dornier Do 17 Bf 110g Nightfighter Messerschmitt Bf 110G-2 Hornisse FW 200 Condor Fiat G50 SM79 Sparviero Gloster Gladiator Westland Whirlwind B-25 Mitchell Hawker Typhoon Hawker Tempest Fairey Firefly and Fulmar Boulton Paul Defiant Lockheed Hudson Bristol Beaufighter de Havilland Mosquito Vickers Wellington Avro Lancaster Short Stirling Short Sunderland B24 Liberator P40 Kittyhawk P47 Thunderbold P38 Lightning pz11 cc (polish) Petljakow Pe-2 One problem of playing online is that: Most players want to be Aces with a big high score. I for myself play for fun and have no problems with taking a plane which is totaly underlay. It could be nice to have some fights with some PZ11 against a couple BF 109, but you will never find it in the Net. Try this:http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=9875 |
Hurrah for Mr.Blonde; he's the only person I've seen on this forum give mention to my fave WWII plane (or at least one of my faves...) the Bristol Beaufighter!
Would also love to see the de Havilland Mosquito and the P38 Lightning would make a pretty cool addition too. |
-P-38 (any version)
-Spitfire Mk I -Hurricane Mk I -Bf 110G2 -B-24J -C.205 -P-47D11 -P-47D25 -Typhoon |
cool idea
id like to see mosquito p38 lightning b25 mitchell liberator but most of all i think a de Havilland DH.100 vampire jet would be awsome i once read a short story called The Shepard about a DH.100 very spooky |
BRITISH
Avro Lancaster bomber De Havilland Mosquito Hawker Typhoon Some more skins for the spitfire/hurricane AMERICAN P51D Mustang...... that works :P B24 Liberator B25 Mitchell P38 Lightning P47D Thunderbolt RUSSIAN Nothing at all, they all suck ;) (im joking soviet before you flame me lol) GERMAN Other than cockpits..... im not really fussed for anything else though some skins would be nice. Actually itake that back - JU88 DO17 |

Maybe people should start reading previous posts before adding their own. the posts tend to get a bit repetitive..
|
here is a link to that story about a dh.100
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shepherd if you get that chance read this book good story and spooky :) |
Sounds good!!
Would of maybe thought about purchasing it, but its fictional which doesnt really make it my cup of tea. But sound like a great read, cheers for the link :) |
P-40 should be one of the tops as it was a top allied success story. Read General Chenault's Flying Tigers.
I would say from there P-38. It was a incredible plane! |

Subsequently, when his former squadron was under heavy attack and heavily outnumbered, an extra plane would appear out of the sun attacking the germans and shooting them down with ease. None of the squadron could identify the planes pilot as it had no markings (other than roundrils). No german pilots could get close enough to shoot it, and it always managed to evade any attacks on it. As soon as the battle was in the RAF's favour the plane would dissapear in to the coulds and not be seen again. The story then takes off (pardon the pun) with the "quest" of one pilot to discover if the plane was his old squadron buddy, and what really happened to him on his fateful flight. |

Technically yes. However the story was based on reports from pilots during the Battle of Britain of "unknown" RAF aircraft taking on the Germans, and somehow managing to turn the fight in the RAF's favour. At the time many pilots believed that it was either a special wing that the RAF had, or it was something "else". Many speculated it was old wingmen come back from the grave, others that it was "ghost" aircraft with no pilot seeking vengance.
Whatever the case the story was a good one, I just wish I could remember the damn name of it. |

thanks for the link to the book. i might actually read it.
BUT... lets get back on the topic of DLC. i was thinking that they could add a few single mission that take place during the battle for France early in the war, complete with french aircraft such as: BLOCH MB-152C-1 Dewoitine D 520 (also used by Italy) Morane-Saulnier M.S. 406 Also, I'd like to see the Russian Pe-2 and Tu-2. you can see the Pe-2 in the Berlin intro video. |
Great planes guys - the thing I'd _really_ like in DLC though is a more varied set of training modes to give these planes a run in (or bots for online, which'd be the same thing in effect) - Or some single missions where you can choose a variety of planes to try them with, and can choose to fly on both sides (obviously sticking to historically accurate loadouts for the sides, no Lancs flying bomber runs for the Italians - but giving people a choice of Hurri II, Spit II, Spit IX, Spit XVI or Tempest say?)

sounds cool plz if you remember the title let me know think id like to read that mate :):) |
I want the Yak-15. Forever!
|
I think they should put a Tie fighter in
|
+1 for the Wooden Wonder! :D Must have the B, FB and NF variants though ;)
Other aircraft that I don't think anyone mentioned; Allied Handley Page Hampden Vickers Wellington Bristol Beaufort Fairey Swordfish Consolidated PBY Catalina Grumman Avenger And, God Forbid...The Avro Manchester! Axis Ju-88 Dornier Do-217 I'll find my big book of WW2 Planes and list the lot later :D |
Wait, no DHV MASQUITO!!!!!! ARE THE DEVELIPORS NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I'd like to see new Strike maps using carriers and ships.
Give us a compliment of carrier planes to go with it: Avenger Dauntless Helldiver Corsair Hellcat ...you get the idea. I want to dive bomb and torpedo ships. When the targets can shoot back like on the sea target maps it's more fun than defenseless bunkers too. Agreed on P-38, a corrected P-51D, Mosquito. Lancaster might be too dominant but it sure would be fun. A B-24 also would be nice for another big bomber option. |
MiG-1
F-6 Hellcat Those would do me! |
Pe-2
Tu-2 He-117 Ju-88 do 317 |
I think a few more BOMBERS would be cool. Mainly big bombers. I think a night time STRIKE mission with the LANCASTER would be cool. Also the B-24 strike mission over Europe would be real nice. And, as for Airfield Capture a Carrier game like that would be cool.
|
You know what we need? FLYING BOATS!
Sunderland Catalina Walrus. |
Yeah flying boats! Would be amazing in CTA
|
Quote:
|
No, it would be amazing! It would scrape along the ground and not be able to take off again!
AMAZING! |
Quote:
Amazingly, I managed to snap off a wheel earlier on and not die, so it's possible that you could slide it and still fire the turret guns. A better alternative would be to add a runway area in Dover harbour :D |
But then nothing else would be able to land there, and it would be boring for anyone else

And flying boats would be super cool imo. |
Lockheed P-38J and L models lighting FTW, nuff said.
2x.50 cal 2x .30 and 1x 37mil cannon in the nose she packs a punch and no worry about converging bullets from wings its right in front of you:cool: Fork tailed devil is grace personified with the twin Allison super charged 12's screaming she is nasty. |
Now that i think about it, IL-2 will most likely have lots of DLC content. And, as long as it isn't like Ace Combat 6 were most of the planes have some japanese anime person on it, which i hate, im more then ok...personally no unrealistic stuff is also OK, but then again, it would be fun. My friend baught the ANIME F-22 not knowing what it was, as soon as we started flying, he just went "WTF, Why is their this ANIME person on my wing, what a waste of money...****!!!!"
|
Really, this game needs more lasers. And more A-10s
|

Do you, or do you not, agree that the GAU-8 would fit right in this game?
|

OOOH!! OOOH!! OOOH!! And don't forget crappy weird defensive weapons like smoke and tesla guns and big flashlights and big shotguns that fire out yer planes backside!!
|
Quote:
You played Blazing Angels 2 aswell? Still, it was called "Secret Weapons Of WWII", so I guess you shouldn't have expected a flight sim like IL-2 |

To be honest, if you wanted a definitive list of aircraft that *could* be included in IL-2 using the *current campaigns*, here's an list for you
Russia (Not so good with Russian aircraft, but I know some American aircraft were sent to/bought by Russia) - B-25 Mitchell - P-63 Kingcobra - MiG-1 + 3 - Petalyakov Pe-2 + Pe-3 - Petalyakov Pe-8 RN - Fairey Firefly - Fairey Battle - Fairey Fulmar - Fairey Swordfish - Blackburn Skua/Roc - Martlet IV (Wildcat) - Grumman Hellcat - Grumman Avenger - Chance-Vought Corsair RAF - Spitfire Variants - Hurricane Variants - DeHavilland Mosquito - Boulton Paul Defiant - Bristol Beaufighter - Gloster Gladiator - Hawker Tempest - Hawker Typhoon - Westland Whirlwind - Avro Lancaster - Avro Manchester - Handley-Page Hampden - Handley-Page Halifax - Vickers Wellesley - Vickers Wellington - PBY Catalina - Short Sunderland USAAF - Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk - Lockheed P-38 Lightning - Northrop P-61 Black Widow - B-24 Liberator - And for christ's sake, a P-47 for everyone! I might list some German and Italian aircraft later, it took a while to look those up and where they served. |
If your looking for Italian planes then here's a list :D
Macchi 202 Macchi 205 Macchi 200 Fiat CR.42 Fiat G.50 Fiat G.55 Reggiane Re2000 Reggiane Re2001 Reggiane Re2002 Reggiane RE2005 Ambrosini SAI207 Meridionali Ro57 Breda 65 C.A.N.S.A FC.20 Machetti SM.79 Fiat Br.20 Ca-135 Piaggio P-108 And there you have the planes in service of the Regia Aeronautica. |

Fiat G 55 Cr.42 p-39 And so people here can get the p-47 and ta 152 |

I really love it for the lines and being a rather unique plane compared to most other fighters in the war more than anything else. Two engines can also provide a little insurance if you sustain some damage he he. |
Quote:
4x.50 cal and a 20mm cannon in most models. The added .50 cals and higher rate of fire and better trajectory of the 20mm over the 37mm would be significant. The P-39 had the gun arrangement you mentioned, and the convergence and trajectory mismatches, and low ROF of the 37 mm really proved to be a design fault in action, at least in the air to air role. The 37mm could be a terror against light armored vehicles however. The Russians made great use! |

I'm not quite up to speed on all the specs but just get it in the game so I can enjoy it's beauty like I did on IL-2 for the PC  |
Well mosquito ofcourse and lancaster.
Maybe some of the german nightfighters: Heinkel He 219 "Uhu" (love the looks on this one) Junkers Ju-88G |

"Get 100 online kills with FW series planes OR Download The Title Update And Win Once" ^^What title update? The upcoming one? |
whats the title update?
|
It's the first update after the release of the game.
|
dam that never came up for that update
|
It will never happen, but I would LOVE to see a plane frim the HE100 series by Heinkel.
Here is the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/He_100 |
Quote:
but they should add it as the "he-113" . the head of German propaganda used he-100s to create a fictional night-fighter squadron of "he-113"s. he mannaged to fool the allies into thinking it was a real plane. |
Quote:

The Ju-88 would be a nice addition. I would love a cockpit for the Bf-110. I've always had a soft spot for the B-25 too...
|
Some planes I'd like to see, possibly with a couple variants.
F4F F4U F6F SBD TBF SB2C P-38 P-40 B-24 B-25 B-26 Mosquito Lancaster Ju-88 Do-17 Fw-200 Tempest Typhoon Spitfire Mk XIV Also would like to see bomb loadouts available for aircraft that were fighter-bombers, such as Bf-109s, etc. |
