Master of Acrobatic Flight

Heads up for if your trying to get the 'Master of Acrobatic Flight' achievement on the 360.

I just spent ages doing outside loops and spins but never got the on screen card telling me I had performed it, but when I did the last manoeuvre (Split S) the achievement unlocked any way. So if your getting frustrated trying to pull off those two moves the game does register that you have done them even though it does not tell you it has.

I was wondering that too... I amusing the controller right now, waiting on my ace edge to arrive... and have been trying to get the various stunt manouvers and I would not get the card to show... I know for a fact I did the split-s, immelman, and the hammerhead stall. yet no card showed... only card I have seen yet is the hide in the clouds one.

For the immelman card to appear a set of specification must be met eg. level wings above 250mph(i think) and above 700feet or something of that ilk.

lol... I will never get it until I get my ace edge then... oh well... I can't keep level flight with the controller setup ( I need the sticks swapped aka southpaw )

other then that I will have to try it out on another plane... maybe i was not doing 250+....

anyone else form the US notice that if you set the units to ft, mph, etc, that when you go to tutorial its still all in meters..? wtf... I was wondering why max altitude you can start with is 9000... start the game and it says 27000....

minor yes... but it should have been caught in QA sessions..

Pull straight up, turn down the throttle, at about 100mph give hard rudder in one direction, you will flat spin, recover by putting on opposite rudder from the direction you are spinning in.

The tutorial also makes you do a spin when you are trying to unlock sim mode. Well atleast it does on ps3.

I accidentally managed it on my first day with the game on the 360.

The best aircraft to flat spin is the I-153 in realistic or simulator mode, as they are notorious for this in real life and in the game. You'll need a bout 12,000 Feet to recover.

Taking the I-153 above 20,000 Feet will make its ability to stall higher as the thinner air and lack of prop thrust factors in.

Use the engine torque to cause the aircraft to spin to the right by backing off then throttling up.... all single engined prop jobs with a clockwise prop rotation will spin to the right easiler than to the left. Nose up and bank right with the rudder to the left and you should enter a flat spin. If the aircraft starts to rock from nose to tail you are in a "Falling Leaf Spin" which is not recoverable from, so your only option is to bail out.

There's a difference between asking something in an old post and answering it. I'm pretty sure Yossarian's got the MoAF achievement by now ;).
