Do you build aircraft models?
In acc. to the hysterics of the oncoming game, I'm interested to build aircraft models specially card models.
So I have ordered two of them: Bf 109 E4 Heinkel He-111 ... and here are the reports of the Bf 109 and the He-111 how to build them. Here is another very beautiful aircraft: Hawker Hurricane. ;) The underlined texts are links. |
I never knew they even produced card models. They look pretty good.
I've been making plastic kits in 1/72 scale for a couple of years now. Here's a few of them: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3206/...6dab9f4f33.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2600/...bb02dfeab3.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3606/...93c82fb128.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3276/...2781c4cf35.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2675/...c599eb9a2d.jpg |

Great Job Jazzy Jase!!!
1/72 scale is a hard one.... I particularly like the mosquito. I also build scale models myself but I prefer the 1/32 scale. I especially love german planes because they are interesting for airbrushes techniques. Here are the only pictures I have from my own, done years ago: BF-109 (E5 if I can remember) 1/48: Attachment 1043 FW-190 D9 (Brown 4) 1/32... not finished at that time : All markings handpainted... no decals! Attachment 1044 |

I'd love to build in 1/32 or even 1/48 but I live in a tiny flat and I don't have the space for them. |
Lovely work Jazzy/Cydno. I only usually build RC stuff and it doesn't tend to be scale. However I recently bought a tiny wee Sukhoi 26 aerobatic plane that I intend to strip the gear out of and build a scale airframe to put it in.
For those into the paper/card models you can get 3 free downloads of PDFs from here if you register: https://www.fiddlersgreen.net/ Edit: on looking at those earlier links to the card models these are nothing like as detailed but hey, they're free. |
I do, but they tend to be a mix of stuff.
This is a Lancaster I did a few years ago Avro Lancaster some other stuff I've done Senna's 1990 McLaren Falklands Sea Harrier Tornado GR4 B-2 Stealth Bomber (in progress) |

Some very nice work there - liking the 109 and the T-34/76 in particular Apologies - some of the links don't work as my freind and fellow forum owner Mike has upgraded the forum software this morning and b0rked the message boards - should be up again soon  |
I build RC models, here are some pictures of my 1/7th scale FW190D9:

BTW: first post! |

Well done guys! ;)
I have found an awesome free card model in a scale of 1:33 of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine, which was built for installing it into the Spitfire, Mustang, Hurricane and so on. Have a look! |

Look at those pictures in the link! This card model was made with my attached pdf, but scaled up to 1:16.
http://sakrisonwings.blogspot.com/20...engine-in.html Read the building instructions in my first post of this thread. There are some english writers in this german forum, so you can find out how to work with paper and cards. Here is a free downloadable race aircraft: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/card-m...-download.html |
These are all I used own. I just had to add some piece really, I'm not much of a model builder.

I've been looking to start some models, but I was wondering what is a good model kit brand? I'm looking for detailed accurate models (1:32). (Preferably easy to find in Canada)

try the Revell 1/32 Junkers 88 - this has only been out a year and retails at £40 in the UK, so I'd guess not much more on your side of the pond Very cheap very big and very easy to build, not to mention extremely accurate - fabulous value for money. http://www.scaleworkshop.com/gallery/ju88a132bg_1.htm If you want something slightly smaller the Fw190D-9 by Revell is a Hasegawa re-box and also builds into an astonishing model http://www.scaleworkshop.com/workshop/fw190d932lg_1.htm hope that helps John |

Two big brands for me are Trumpeter (expensive but very very detailed) and Hasegawa.
With them you will find a lot of WWII fighters models in a 1/32 scale. :-P |
Thanks for the tips guys. I'll see what I can find around here, before I head of to ebay.
