Constant Crashes
I've been tolerant of the crashes the past week, but It's starting to be a real pain now.
For me, Men of War crashes at almost random times. If I go through the menus too fast or do things ingame too fast, the game will freeze my computer and cause me to restart it. I've tried setting the priority of the game to the highest and closing every program except for the game but it still freezes up. I read somewhere that it's something to do with the copy protection in the exe and tried using a nocd exe, still crashes. I'm running the game with all of my settings on maximum. Computer specs: CPU: Intel Core2 Quad RAM: 3 gigs Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 Running Windows XP Please help with this, I want to be able to play a full game without crashing. |

lol It seemed a cp or resolution problem but for me it still locks up from time to time though much less frequent now thankfully. It's a problem with the game obviously but it's any ones guess atm as to a exact cause..my guess is bad coding...
|
Well, as far as I know, lockups will be fixed in the upcoming patch. Will try to check this and inform you asap.
|
Any news on that patch? Six months have passed since the last post, and no new patches this far, while my MoW awaits to be played in my HD.
|
The patch should arrive after the Russian new year. So I would not look for it till some time after the 20th of Jan.
|
That's what i've heard, but i expected it to be ready this week, or perhaps the next one. Thanks for your reply anyway. I hope the upcoming patch fixes those annoying freezes...
EDIT: Well, in case any is experiencing the same problem, i've found that the solution in the following post does the trick: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=6669 Bloom turned off and no more freezes this far. It's a good way around until the promised patch arrives. |
How's the patch going? What is the latest version of Men of War anyway? Mine says 1.20 something. It still crashed constantly almost exactly like the person that is having the same problem here.
Check this: I have a Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT (512mb I believe) graphics card, AMD Athlon 62 X2 Duel Core 4200+ 2.21 GHz processor, and 2 GB of RAM. I'm running Windows XP SP3 and I have just recently updated my video card drivers from Nvidia's website. |

Remember, I bought my copy of Men of War from Steam. Is this going to say 'Game not found'?

Auto-updates were on. I just verified the integrity cache, Now what?

Ok, just started up the game. It was about 5 minutes into the game that I froze up. Everything before the freeze was A-OK. I was able to Alt-Tab out onto my task bar on the bottom of my screen from the desktop. A few minutes later I could minimize the game to see the background of my desktop while blocks of the images stuck to my Steam account module window. I had to do a hard restart because my computer completely froze up.

Really strange, please post the exact number of the your version. And also please send DirectX report (dxdiag) to our support (support@1cpublishing.eu).
|
Update for videocard: 260.89 WHQL, that's weird, this was just released two or three days ago, I just installed the version before that.
I'm not sure if that's the number you need. Sending DxDiag report now. |
Complete froze-up means hardware or core software (drivers) problems, no game is able to freeze a PC completely on its own. You should check your card cooling ASAP or it may be damaged because of overheating.
|
I was able to do much more in one of my most recent matches ingame. I lasted for about 7 minutes this time after I had upgraded my video card to the latest version, then it randomly froze up and I had to do another hard restart.
Hopefully my DxDiag report and your teams can help me fix my problem for good. |
My video card does generate a low buzzing noise though, there's no overheating problems that I know of, I felt the plastic casing on the fan and touched the metal on the back of it, didn't feel hot at all.
|
There is a number of things in a modern PC that may overheat - video card, CPU, some chips on mainboard.
|
My XP always makes noise. I mean really loud noise. I've looked inside it and everythings rusty and dusty. FSB may come and arrest me anyday now for keeping a Biohazard in my house.
|
Actually more recently, I've noticed my monitor flashing black and then going back to normal, just happened twice in the last 2 minutes of typing this.

They ever fix this crash thing??? I can't loot bodies or trade weapons with out a 5 minute freeze and get a 15 minute freeze waiting for the failed screen to pop up.. If i didn't need ammo I could get through the first mission..
When it freezes the clock on my g15 keyboard also stops until the freeze ends, still keeps time just doesnt update it till end of crash.. Will not alt-tab ctl-alt-del has little effect, and pounding esc or anyother button improves nothing. Running latest version of steam MOW. and all drivers up to date.. I know at one time it worked great on this system as I remember the 1st time through and do not recall any freezes, lock-ups, etc.. |
