You also should read this: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=6846 Besides that, this "problem dividing the community" has a beard as long as the service altitude of an SR71 and so far, it didn't divide the community. It just made clear, there are different opinions about it. |

this don't help and it was not a discussion about "you know What" it about how the produces and developers are failing to do anything about it but would rather see the game self destruct then try and deal with the problem.
All new game deal with the problem were everyone is happy but not the maker of IL2 they think that sweeping it under the carpet it going to go away and as you see it working. |
One day (probably in two weeks;)) BOB will be released and this kind of posts will be over.

IL2 didn't selfdestruct in 2 years. Why should it now? Because you just noticed? |

Don't think so.
Last time I checked, it was merely a campaign-system that allowed to produce missions to be played in IL2. That's not hacking into protected code. Just a very sophisticated external mission generator. Don't know how that changed over the last years, though. |

The sky has not fallen.. the world as we know it has not ended.. and to this very day.. there are places right here in the U.S. at least.. where they cannot keep 46 on the shelves. Get over it... enjoy the sim. |
No reason to light a cigar at all:
It's not all good what ends good. Mods are still based on an illegal crack, people are violating copyrights and even in the "controlled" environment, as you stated it in previous statements, flightmodells, visibility ranges and weapon effects/ammo loadouts are changed in the open and that is only the tip of the iceberg. So it's as pointless to bring up the wardrums as it is to say all is safe and calm and we're just one happy crowd. It's just accepted that there are people with this opinion and people with other opinions. |

Sounds really cool, Is this something that Oleg gave his blessing to...did you seek that from him? |

SEOW has been around well before the current divisive issues. My esteemed compatriate, IV/JG7_4Shades is the chief instigator and he's been working on SEOW for more years than I (and probably himself) cares to remember. His team constantly seeks to improve it and SEOW is a constantly evolving product. Is certainly something that is done from the heart and definitely not for monetary gain. Yes, I believe Oleg was contacted and it demonstrated about a year or so ago through one or both of his representatives/friends, Luthier or Crazy Ivan. Don't know the details and if it went anywhere. Not too concerned, its opened sourced code afterall and I'd guess his people would be looking into such things somewhere down the track. As for us, is much more about getting the most out of IL2 and whatever happens, happens. Regards, Warg |

Following on Warg's excellent posts:
SEOW only interacts with IL-2 via standard FMB mission files (to set up a coop) and the eventlog (to parse the coop results). Discussion about, referrals and links to mods or MOD sites is prohibited on this site. Threads with prohibited information will be edited, or deleted without explanation. We have had friendly contacts with Oleg, CrazyIvan and Luthier over the years, and we wait for SoW with anticipation. We understand that SEOW probably goes way beyond what is commercially feasible for a campaign system - SEOW at full switch is very detailed and demanding on players in order to give a realistic combined forces battlefield environment. However we hope that at least some of our ideas and software implementations may influence design and feature directions for SoW, and we stand ready to assist 1C if required. In the meantime, we serve our community of interest as best we can. Cheers, 4Shades SEOW Developer |
