God I wish I spoke Russian!
Because I'd buy the Armored Princess right away! This way, I'll have to wait another 5 or so months.
Who else is with me? P.S. If any Russian speaking people come in here to gloat, we will have their heads. You've been given fair warning. |
I feel your pain!
I have played through the Russian demo and I feel that this expansion is far superior to the original... and wish I was playing the full English game! Our Russian friends can play this game right now, so by the time we get the English version, they would have played it through as Warrior, Paladin and Mage! |
I`m soooo with you! I love playing the demo and all, but it still leaves me kinda frustrated because I don`t really know what`s going on. For example, I love the new unit the assassin, but I`ve noticed that it seems to not be affected by buff spells, but I`m not 100% sure which spells work on them and which don`t. I also wish I knew what I was doing on the quests. Using trial and error I can figure out how to get the rewards, but I have no clue what it is that I did. Sigh. I wish I spoke russian.

I wish they released an english demo, there wasn't so much to translate.
|
Guys, the english demo won't appear soon, most likely 3-4 weeks before the release, and I think there will be new location.
|
Ryastar, Assasin got death servant ability and buffs dont work on him, it makes him a bit undead like
the first medal is for winnig without losses |
*considers taking a crash course in Russian*
|
Why are 1C neglecting American and European customers? Is there any chance for a fan-made english translation of the demo then?
|
Sadly we have to wait months for the full game, it will be a long wait seeing the lack of quality PC games released so far this year, actually it is nearly the middle of the year and no PC games worth playing have been released, NONE!

To get by my addiction of turn-based game style of King's Bounty, I am now playing Heroes of Might and Magic V.
However, this game is not as fun as King's Bounty |
I couldn't play HoMM V for more than about 10-20 hours in SP. Just isn't the same. The Tribes of the East campaign is definitely an improvement on the original campaign though, which is awful.
|
HOMM V is different from KB, but I liked it very much nonetheless. Disciples 3 will be released before armored princess, I have high expectations from it.
|
I used to be a lover of the homm serie, but I didn't like the 4 at all. The 5 was better, but too much "déjà-vu". I tried the game age of wonders : shadow magic, it's a veeery good homm-like. Not very beautiful, but more strategic than homm and with a tons of very good gameplay ideas.

yes, you are right, Disciples 3 is about to be released...but the russian version. the english one will be released in q3 2009. bad luck.
|
It is funny how Russians get all the good turn-base strategy game and here in the U.S.A we get bombarded with first person shooter games.

Why do the American boys love to shoot and blow head of enemy wave mindlessly? Are they so trigger-happy and blood-thirst? Arn't they assumed to be peace-loving innocent people? On the contrary, why do Russian boys love to play seemingly slow and *boring* turn-based strategy game like KB:TL or the Chess, agonizing many minutes over just one next move? Are they a faint-hearted chicken or nerdy egg-heads? :) Didn't they have been assumed to be the evil Commie Empire, who were eager to decimate this world to dust bowl with their fearsome atomic bombs? Yo, you Russians. You are so good at producing excellent strategy game! I envy you!!! Do anyone have explanation for this? |

That said, don't forget that HOMM was originally an US game, as was King's Bounty. Back then, there were equal amounts of all types of games. Sadly, by today, my favourite types of games (turn based strategy, RPGs, platform side-scrollers) are few and far between. Even with RPGs - the good ones are usually from europe... I mean, Fallout was my favourite, and look what they done to it - turned it to a Morrowind clone, completely butchering the action-point/turn-based combat system, it's basically a FPS with some freeze options and RPG elements. :( |
Yes, it's not fair that english version comes later. But it will come with new patch and bugless. Think about russian players like about testers ;)

hmmm, I am a Ukrainian living in Canada, so I do speak Russian. Somehow it never occurred to me that I could actually buy the game online from the Russian 1C website. Thank you for making me realize this as I will enjoy playing the game first thing after work tomorrow :D. And, please, do not decapitate me!
P.S. I LOVE the original King's Bounty and the Legend. In fact, I still play the original from time to time. |
Has there been any mention of an Engish demo yet (or will there even be one)? I just downloaded the Russian demo and though the game looks fantastic, it is hard to figure things and conversations due to the language.
|
Nope, no info yet. I too cannot wait for the game - I have just resumed playing KB after two months of hiatus (Plants vs. Zombies got me addicted...) and even though I love KB, I keep thinking "all these annoying problems KB had would be fixed with the expansion"... :(
|
The English demo is not far off I believe as the game will be released on Oct. 30

Bit confused; that link list 1c as the publisher who publishes it in europe; but who will be publishing it in usa and when will it be released in usa ?

I won't use gamergate. If I go digital I'm limiting it to steam or stardock (2 is enough for me to keep track of); though I prefer box copy.

Okay, but I've used all three and there's no real difference in the service. In fact I like Gamersgate better now as they no longer have any kind of downloader. Couldn't be easier.
