Getting quiet around here.....
Anton, is the site ready yet?
Will it have news on IL2 BoP, NEW screenshots, and other features? Cause I think we ran outta stuff to talk about...:( Can you at least comment? |
Hmm yeah i think people were originally thinking that we'd be seeing the game around this time.
The lack of solid release date is probably dampening peoples excitement levels for now. I'm sure the forum will get more active once a release date is announced and more articles and previews of the game start coming out. |
Yep.
Well Anton said we could see stuff by now, so I guess any minute we could get a trailor, press release, or something, hopefully.
|
Yeah the fact that Anton hasn't posted a message in a while means he's probably really busy. Which means we might see some stuff sooooooon.
Personally i don't care about screenshots, videos etc. I already know i am going to buy it. I'd just like to know when i can buy it. |
The lack of P.R. on this game is disturbing. It was announced last June, and still there's nothing on Xbox Marketplace, no website, no decent previews, no release date etc etc. Could be looking at 2010 at this rate.

they are not going to push back their experiment to dip their toes into the console market. We should be getting info quite soon with a new website |
Also just found on the web that 505 Games will be at E3 in June. Guaranteed to be a big marketing push for BoP.
|
It wont go to 2010

And yes, i do agree with Tomo as well with the release date. I know that they've only recently finished the Xbox version, but they really need to give us stuff that will keep us on our toes.;) I am starting to not visit this site as often now because of that.:( |
Man I have a itch!!! That needs to be scratched by BOP. I will say one thing the feedback from Anton is awesome. I have been a member of Ubisoft Hawx forum for quite a while now and not onced have I seen something written back to the public from the dev team. To be honest they suck. I do like the game but they only thing I dislike about the game is that there is no take off and landing. There are all kinds of people that hate the new assistance off cam but I think it is fresh and new and it's fun. I bought the first IL2 and loved every minute of it but I have a Apple now and can't play it. This game will be so awesome I will never put it down if it is anything like the first one.

Anton is awesome

I cant wait to see the site soon and see some more IL2BoP info etc. and I hope this game becomes a giant success and make a sequel (or maybe an update or download with Pacific fighters or 1946 would be very awesome:grin:)) Good Luck Guys! -xNikex |

Not only can it enhance an already solid title but it renews interest by bumping it back into the 'new release' column, so to speak. IGN had an article about the random pricing of the DLC, which I tend to agree with - the worst offender funny enough was another flight title, a certain Ace Combat 6 with 70 different add-ons (mostly paint schemes) which ring up to about $180! Yeah. Ridiculous. Value is the key with something like that. Bethesda Studio is basically writing the DLC value bible with three (big) new Fallout 3 campaigns released in three months at about 8 bucks a pop. Nuts. |
Hmmm yep most DLC is just a blatent money grab.
I wish Microsoft would change the "points" system to a $ system. That way people at least have a concept of how much they are really spending. The only DLC i have ever paid for is additional multiplayer maps. Given the seemingly brilliant environments of BOP i would have no problem paying for new multi maps. One thing i do not like is when publishers hold back certain content just so they can release it a week later as DLC. Here in Australia, the Ace Combat 6 DLC was available before the actual game was available. Laughable. |
Yeah, the only thing I ever bought was new online maps too.
They should at least drop the prices of the points considering the addons are things that could have, but weren't put in the game. But with IL2BoP I would be willing to spend some money on an addon like "Pacific Fighters" or "1946" like I mentioned earlier. I'm telling everyone I know about this game, and we are all very excited. Can't wait for the site. |

That's why casinos uses chips and tokens rather than cash and change, and why fast food places take credit cards now. Easier to separate people from more money when they don't see it so much. :-P |
Is any of this Downloadable content for current games EVER available as a store bought extra item??
I probably won't have my console hooked-up to the internet, so I would be very disappointed if there is cool BoP DLC that I wouldn't be able to get! :( It would be great if there was a way for people to get these add-ons even if they didn't have a way to download it... |

Personally i think Gaijin will save the Pacific theatre for a sequel to BOP. Rightly so in my opinion. The scope is too great for DLC. DLC will more than likely be new maps, new skins for planes, new game modes etc. I should point out also that DLC doesn't always cost money. Some publishers make it freeeeeeee ;) |
The only way I've seen dlc in store is like Tomo mentioned: in another version of the game. Game of the Year editions etc often add in any dlc. In the UK there was a GRAW2 put out that included all dlc (we didn't get it).
To offer that as a disc would just increase the cost over a simple download. I'd recommend putting the console online. That's the direction these things are headed. I bet the next gen doesn't even have an optical drive, just a Steam type of service. You lose a lot of functionality offline. There are parental controls if you need to go that route, and you can always put limits to the console's IP address at your router as well. |

Bottom line is, to get the most out of your 360/PS3 it has to be connected online. That way we can all battle it out in BOP  |

Okay, now it is definately getting quiet around here...:(
But hopefully site will be launched within a week or so! |
Anyone know of a decent joystick compatible with ps3? Can't wait to get my hands on BoP!!!
|
Yes there is. A lot nicer looking than the one I've got for the 360.

I want this stick looks pretty cool.
http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/av8rps3v2.htm Help me win it by watching my vids I did for Hawx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKzyG5bTOvc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCgC-ilnkE8 |
The Aviator is the one I've got for the 360. I've got an X52 for my pc, which is nicer (still not perfect) to compare it to.
It's not *bad* but doesn't come across as well made. It's also awkward to use. The shoulder buttons are on the bottom facing you, on the far left and the far right. The right and left stick buttons are there too. The problem is that it's awkward to reach them, especially the right shoulder button and right stick button, since your arm is in the way when flying. The throttle position acually isn't bad. In fact, it helps hold the stick in place with two hands on it. It's ok, but not great. I wish they'd used that new Cyborg stick for consoles instead and added force feedback--especially for a WWII flight sim like IL2. If you have a PS3, I'd get that other one I posted. Or look for the one that Ace Combat 6 came with if you have a 360. |

PC Hypocrites
Guys, I'm starting to get tired of 'Hardcore' PC players not realizing the potential of all of these new simulator games coming to consoles.
I'll see comments from PC players who learn about IL2BoP and go, "Alright! Can't wait to get it for my PC!" Then when they learn it is for console there like, "Oh, it's probebly an arcade game." PC players don't realize that the console community is excited to get these games but get crap from the PC players saying they should go back to their Call of Duty 4. I've noticed in many game forums that console players complain about dumb AI, vehiccals, unrealistic things, etc. Doesn't that signal, "Hey, we want a realistic game?" |
Quote:
Enjoy what you enjoy, let others believe what they want. In the end that's all that matters. Besides, those of us that game on pc and console have everyone beat. You don't have to choose one or the other. :-P |

I'm also getting tired of all the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii bickering I hear all the time about why their console system is better. Like you said; Just enjoy what you enjoy... Peace! |
Console players wanna be like PC players.
I'm not arguing between sides i am just trying to say how console players are starting to want to be like PC players and want to play realistic or even simulated gameplay.
I'm not arguing over 'who is better' because i know it is a lost cause and i will be devistated if thats what every thread in this forum turns into.:( but im jus saying how we're becoming more alike. :) but yes i agree with Raw K. (I'm right with you there. but i dont judge games by platforms like most people. quality is what counts the most!) (To Everyone Else) Please, I have seen many threads and even forums entirely be destroyed by cons. vs. pc arguement, so plz dont start one. |
Yup live and let live is the best way to be.
Everyone in this BoP forum seems to be nice though, so we are lucky. No rude people. |
Quote:
No worries...I don't think anyone thought you were arguing. |
Not at all, I just know here you're coming from. LOL
|
yeah.
im sorry i just really wanted to stress not to argue so the forum doesnt get all boring like most do.:(
and yes i thank everyone on this forum for being so nice about it.:) guess theres nothin to do but to wait for Anton to get back on our questions. |
