Well I'm just stepping away from here until spam filter is in place :(

Every day I turn up now there are pages of spam and to be honest, it's the first website I have seen where daily the Spam isn't filtered out on a regular basis by the server, and I don't have the time to go through every post to see which are genuine and which are not (apart from the very obvious phone deals and gay/xxx/porn links).

Hopefully when I drop back things will be fixed, but guys, come on, get the spam filter working please!

Cheers, MP

See you in a week ;)

Yeah it's a huge blockade lately.
I think I might do the same thing:).
Cheers.

I hear ya....

Don't come on here that often but have noticed a huge increase in spam, shame really

CrazySchmidt 10-06-2008 11:20 AM

The only thread to read here is this one IMO, and it's starting to pick up pace as far as I can see.

CS. :)

Interesting. I never got any type of spam on this forum, except from two PM's few months ago.

Foo'bar 10-06-2008 01:31 PM

There were some spam threads today in the morning, around 5 or so. They have been deleted already.

Nike-it 10-06-2008 01:52 PM

Our current filter somehow doesn't stop some amount of spamm, but we are working on it and in several days this mess should stop. Currently we are deleting all spamm threads manually, but we are also humans, and can't be on the forum for 24 hours, so if you see such threads just ignore them, we are delieting them ASAP.

If you leave, make sure you leave a number so we can let you know as soon as all the spam stops... 'cause we'll miss you dearly.

Jaws2002 10-06-2008 04:29 PM

Wow. The forum just turned into an internet spam jungle.

Mysticpuma 10-06-2008 07:35 PM

Thunderbolt, lol, try me on 666 it gets a little hot where I go, but it sure as hell cooks the Spam nicely! BTW you never even sent me a card Thunderbolt:rolleyes:

Well, I came back and look Spam is gone! Maybe it worked? Or do I just attract the wrong type of posters?

I suppose it's a little like the man in New York selling Spray that keeps away Elephants. When asked if it worked, he said "well can you see any!?"

That analogy wouldn't work in the jungle though.

Well it was a long stay away, but seems as though I fixed it for everybody, I don't mind if you want to thank me....no, really...oh okay, you really don't

I don't think a Spam filter is what you need.

Actually, I suspect you need to recruit some moderators.

A captcha won't work, because real people are making real postings.

IMO, of course.

Sad isn't?! You know at what point in your life do you stop and think, "man my life sucks, I'm an internet spammer."

Funny, I haven't noticed any spam here; probably because I live in GMT+1 timezone. I think it's mainly a problem for our U.S. friends because it's removed manually. by the time the americans log in, the east-european moderators are fast asleep and new SPAM will be added?

Nah, I live in the UK and I've seen a lot. Mainly since last Friday or maybe Thursday.

Report postings by PM to nearmiss or by clicking on the Report Post Icon http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/images/...ons/report.gif in the upper right corner of the posting you want to report. I will get an email notification and the Spammer and the posting will be dealt with ASAP.

choctaw111 10-12-2008 07:29 PM

I haven't really noticed any. For those that do, it is a shame and will be good when the problem is solved.
