Excellent job!!!
Very nicely done, and a great subject too.

Welcome to the skinner's club :-) !!!!!

Thanks Guys

I've actually done a few lately but been lazy and haven't posted them yet.
But I'll put a few more up. I got a couple of small errors in the template I'd like to sort out. That took me two days getting the cam to line up properly.

Messerschmitt Bf 109E4 Stab III./JG2 ((+~ Erich Mix Battle of France May 1940

5 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys
Here is one more for you!
It's Messerschmitt Bf 109E4 Stab III./JG2 ((+~ Erich Mix Battle of France May 1940. One profile has this aircraft as a E-3 with red prop but photo's show it to be E-4 but no photographic evidence of the prop so I left it green and added the grey over the nose gun's could be yellow but looks grey to me also use two camouflages the photo's show it was a light shade but doesn't do well in the game when it's two light so I also added a light blue version.
Enjoy

Bf 109E1 2./JG26 Red 4 WNr 3884 belly landed Pas de Calais France 4th Sep 1940. Avions have this listed as a JG26 bird however publications have it as a EG210 bird choice is yours. Oh BTW i have redone my Bf 109E section again with a lot of adds so have a look remember to press F5. If anyone reads French they can translate the article for me on this aircraft. I have put it under the EG210 folder but if someone can shed more light on this aircraft would be nice.
I'm not brilliant at the camouflage schemes yet but hope you all like this one.
Matthew
I keep trying to upload additional images to this article but 1C keeps coming up with errors sorry about that.

Bf 109 E-1 I./JG1 Red 9 formerly I./JG131 1939-40

5 Attachment(s)
Hi Mate8
Thanks for your kind comments
Here's one you may like.
It's Bf 109 E-1 I.JG1 Red 9 formerly I.JG131 1939-40
In the book they say that the photo looks like it may have been painted all in one colour either RLM 70 or 71 but most aircraft used both in a splinter pattern so I have followed that norm. It does look like it's all one colour when the light hit's it a certain way.
It took me a while to get the pattern to fit nicely so you can make more early skins with this.
Matthew
PS sorry I had to change the skin as they had early markings under the wing.
Fixed now

5 Attachment(s)
Bf 109 E-1 2./JG27 (Red 1+) flown by Gerd Framm and aircraft named 'Samoa' Germany 1940
Was used during the Battle of France.
Sorry I uploaded this first and decided to make the strip at more of an angle which is more Historically correct.
Trouble was it took me a few hour to get everything back into alignment.
Anyway if you have already uploaded the skin just paste this version over the top and your good to go.
Also fixed the number one had a white outline not black so fixed that also.
Anyway since it's Red nosed thought it would make you guys a nice Xmas present :-) although in real life these guy's where anything but Xmas haha.
But now it's a game and we can thank our lucky stars we are not facing war like our forefathers.
They have this as an E-3 but looking at the photo's I think it's more like an E-1 anyway choice is your's will work in both.
I'll add a couple more to make it more flying fun.
Only Red appears to have had the Red Strip.
Matthew
PS the photo had removed the Swass so not sure if it's the correct position. I hate this habit of removing the Swass sticker from photo's as it destroy's the historical value of the photo.
I think I added the Swass stick back onto the photo but looking at other photo's the Swass sticker could of been nearer the rudder if anyone has the original photo pls let me know.

Sorry guys had to fix the skin I had the template set to high camouflage its now corrected for the cockpit level camouflage sorry for you guys who downloaded earlier.

'white 1' of 1./JG76 landed by mistake at the French Strasbourg-Woerth airfield on 22nd November 1939 due to fog.
Basically a major SNAFU pilot got lost in the fog and landed in France giving the French a lovely Bf 109 intact and allowing them to gain valuable intell not that it did them much good. Their own Government did more harm in allowing their country and their air force to fall way behind in technology.

Here a 3 skins from 2./JG3 based in Zerbst winter 1939-40.
I can't see any photo's with the emblem on both sides of the aircraft so have done two versions one with the emblem both sides and the other with just one side.
The books say it was a one colour paint scheme RLM 70 with under RLM 65 so have matched this for historical sake.

Hi Guys
Going through some books I found photo evidence of this group which features
White 3+~ , White 4+~ ,White 9+~ and using a magnifying glass I could see White 16+~ the Stab aircraft was Otto Kath.
I added numbers White 1,6,11 and 13 logically I'm guessing the no styles if you come across any additional photo's of the unit be happy to add more.
Hope you like them.

PS I can't understand why but every time I try to upload a book page no matter what the size there uploader fails I'll add more info on my site.

Here are two more Red 3 and Red 10.
In the photo and angle you can't really tell what E version it is but I have labelled it an E-3 mainly because of the camouflage. Red 10 is a guess and the Red tip on the prop also a guess.

2./JGr101 or 5./ZG1 depending on the date!

Here is another batch.
Red 1 didn't have the emblem in the photo but I have included two versions.
The line up photo under the magnifying glass has Red 10 Red 1 and I think Red 3 or 2 added a couple of others for fun. They seemed to be E-1's and E-3's either will work up to you which one because there is no photo's showing which ones are 3'e etc. I've also elected for grey as the gun tray colour not yellow.

The profile shows a Black Prop but photo's show a white prop. anyway choice is yours have fun.

PS Additional Info: Monday, December 18, 1939 the RAF lost 12 Wellintons on a Reconnaissance mission such a stupid waste of men and materials. RAF 9 Sqn lost 5, RAF 37 Sqn lost 5, RAF 149 Sqn lost 2. On Wednesday, December 27, 1939 the RAF lost two Blenheim's one from 18Sqn and another from 107 Sqn I believe that it was the RAF 107 Sqn aircraft as it was reported crasing off the Island of Wanerooge. Lost Blenheim MkIV RAF OM- L8779 during a Reconnaissance mission. Take-off was from Wattisham and was on a Reconnaissance mission to Wilhelmshaven, Jade and Schilling Roads. Bf 109 E-3 Stab JG52 Chevron Red 2 flown by Hermann Neuhoff WNr 878 Germany Oct 1939. The book profile has this as a E-1 but with the gun sticking out I've decided to put it as a E-3. They also have this as only one upper colour RLM 70 and RLM 65 underneath.
Anyway have fun flying this puppy. :)

But I expect some serious praise on this one.

Also the profile through me and I had to redo things to match the historical photo's but very proud of the results on this. Couldn't work out whether it was a grey nose or green so did both. But from the photo's it can't be Yellow as in the profile.! used RLM 74/75/76

The photo shows black two had a high camouflage scheme not like the others.
Also the appear not to have had the yellow noses yet in these photo's
Done the props black as most shot's don't feature the prop.
Have fun.

BTW 12 is and extra.
As you can see from the photo's they seem to use two different emblems also the number sizes vary.
Done my best to keep everything historical.

Sorry guys redid JG27 batch

Sorry guys redid this batch as the JG27 emblem was too small plus had the wrong number fonts so have corrected the errors.
Thanks for the feed back!!:grin::grin::grin:
Sorry to say I had to correct my previous JG27 skins not quiet historically accurate and finally managed to get the right combo of fonts so I could get the number right. I ve also been testing out the color of the skins so not to get the bleached effect and also redid the Blue not quiet the right RLM color but works better for game play.
Anyway chap's Tally Ho!!

Help needed

Does anyone know how to get the pilot's to be uniform?
I know how to set the pilot option but it only seems to work with your own personal aircraft and doesn't filter across to the other aircraft.
Is there a setting for this or is it just a design thing?
Matthew:confused::confused::confused:

This aircraft made a force landing on a beach along the French coast.
The photo isn't the best and the plane is half submerged which also doesn't help.
But any photo is better than none.
I known a couple of artist's have done this one but I had the template and decided to add it anyway.

I started doing this skin and when I looked at the photo showing the kill markings for some strange reason I decided to recreate as best I can the markings. I checked my database and they match even added the correct dates and cross referenced everything. You loose a lot of the detail however with the skin. Anyway looking at the tail section the profile had the patch as green but I feel it was most likely a repair done and was probably in red-brown. I hope I'm right I also put the correct werk no in even though in the photo it has a white outline if I did this it was too small and spoilt the affect so left the no 1432 in black. Got the cockpit color changed exact so looks pretty good to me anyway. So in away I'm rather proud of this one and hope you all like it also.

Messerschmitt Bf 109E-1 of 5./ JG52 belonging to Uffz. Leo Zaunbrecher 'Red 14', the Bf 109E-1 of Uffz. Leo Zaunbrecher of 2./JG52 was forced to land in a field near Lewes after being damaged in combat by P/O J. McLintock of 615Sqn. during the early afternoon of 12 August 1940. It carried a high demarcation upper camouflage of RLM 02/71 and the red painted 2.Staffel 'Little Devil' emblem superimposed on a white disc was painted on the port cowling only. The aircraft was also fitted with a rear view mirror mounted on the windscreen framing. Although shown in this profile with a red forward section, it is understood that some eye-witness reports stated that the spinner was red. However, whether these reports referred to the entire spinner or just the tip is not known for certain.

@acred99

That's really some very fine work on details in the logos and symbols you've done there. That's a high standard and it's nice to see. I'm glad you toned down the blue, it makes a big difference; the game looks a lot better with less bright colours. Everything looks really good now.
You still seem to be having problems with overly bright/colourful screenshots though. It's a shame, it doesn't do your skkins justice.
Anyway, well done.

Cheers.

I try to make the screenies more interesting and use the CYK mode but been switching back and forth between the standard RGB web setting which looses a lot of color. My photoshop has this mode on as standard because I'm often editing photo's which I take in RAW format. If I use the light blues though the game on my computer turns them white because also with the new MOD they somehow added that feature and you can't turn it off despite all their suggestions.
I'm trying to get help from the boys at IL2 Battle of Stalingrad but not much yet hopefully soon though. I guess we'll have to do a few more skins.:grin:
But the new DDS format makes the files very large be interesting how things pan out but so glad they are bringing new content out. It's a pity they never bought out any earlier British or French aircraft for COD some Fairey Battles or Curtiss Hawks would of been great or a couple of Polish aircraft.
