Amazing screens.. IL-2 just never get old
|
Why do I get this feeling that 409 final is not far away!
|
Okay, we know about the patch, but will the server-files be ready, too?
|
Amazing work, hats off
|
excellent work jurinko !!
the winter map looks amazing :) how do you get your city/town buildings to show at that distance ? usually flying low in an aircraft gives the annoying "building popup bubble" distance (adding the longer horizon viewing distance doesnt seem to improve this) lets hope your new map gets released soon ! |

THIS is an absolutely fantastic picture!!!! And from now on, my desktop! Jurinko, these maps of yours are absolutely amazing! Pieces of art! Skarphol |
Like I said over at UBI.
BEST. MAP. EVER. Come on Oleg and guys, looks like SOW is still a long way off, let's get this puppy wrapped up with the official dedicated server to give the Il-2 series a last clean send off. 8-) |
Really excellent work, Jurinko. Breathtakingly beautiful !
Let's hope that we will be able to fly above this astounding landscape really soon :) |
Breathtakingly beautiful work! Thank you for this, and I also hope it gets released soon

Slovakia Winter Map
Well done Jurinko, excellent pics - "hopefully the boss is looking at this post?".
I will be looking forward to incorporating this map into one of my future campaigns - the summer map is now famous as an IL2 'work of art'. DFLion |
Well done! A work of art to enhance the original work of art. IL2 will never die be sure.
|
Fantastic maps! (both summer and winter versions). Lots of thanks to all of the creators!!
|
does this map come with a new computer?
I've been flying alone in slovakia, it's absolutely beautiful! my fps isn't haha, looks like i'll be upgrading for slovakia and not for BOB lol  |

Top work mate, shame we still don't have 4.09(final).

The majority of players would probably be more than happy just to have this map released as part of a new beta. |
the only thing I noticed on the winter maps; that is needing attention is Snow covered roofs?
|

Snow on the roofs would require all objects made as new ones (with snow textures). Hmm, few new pics: http://www.letka13.sk/~jurinko/betamap_scr205.JPG http://www.letka13.sk/~jurinko/betamap_scr206.JPG http://www.letka13.sk/~jurinko/betamap_scr207.JPG http://www.letka13.sk/~jurinko/betamap_scr208.JPG http://www.letka13.sk/~jurinko/betamap_scr209.JPG http://www.letka13.sk/~jurinko/betamap_scr210.JPG |
When 4.09 comes out I'm going on a big drunk :)
|
Its a great shame we never got an actual Avia in IL2. It would have complemented these fantastic maps nicely.
JURINKO: That skin was not meant to be used with the ski's enabled (the ski parts are partly covered by a mask and a reference to Nightshifter and Friendly flyers original template). I will upload and link a new version with the ski parts uncovered tomorrow. EDIT: ... and also fix the alignment of the tail flag which someone has pointed out to me is not straight. |
nice
so I will say 2 weeks before final 4.09 ;) |

"Two weeks"...that's funny. That's soooo clever...did you think of that all by yourself? While your at it do you have any "Titanic" jokes that you feel like throwing in? "Two weeks"...that's so clever. "Good by...you are the weakest link!" :) :) |
Two weeks to the big party :)
|
As previously mentioned the skin featured in the 2nd lot of photos did not have skis enabled (as I did not know there would be a winter version of the map).
I have updated the download, revisions include: - Skis enabled so the skins will work with this wonderful new Slovakia Winter map once its available. - Historical corrections. Tail insignia now the right way up !!! - Bonus new skin not in original download ... Slovak Republic before Polish Campaign (no Balkenkruz) Download link: http://www.mission4today.com/index.p...etails&id=4306 ( Photo below is Moscow Winter not Slovakia) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/clannagh/ski.jpg |
Nice work Galway. Hope you will have chance to skin real avias in il-2. One day ...
|
A truly amazing map! The best map I have ever seen!

A full release of 4.09 would benefit the entire IL-2 community, not just one faction or another. We don't really need another 10-month beta though... as mentioned several posts back, let's get this puppy released so the community can enjoy the crowning achievement of the IL-2 series. Then the community can busy itself with campaigns, missions and paint schemes to fit the wonderful new maps while we all await the initial offering in the S.o.W. series. |
Basically until we see a final with final releases of the maps and a dedicated server to match...I'm really not going to use any of these in new MP or SP scenarios. Just too many uncertainties in play until these things are sorted out.

Meanwhile, seeming as this thread has resurrected itself, here is another skin semi-relevant to this map. I got an unusual request on the UBI forums for a p11c hacked as the Aero A102 prototype in Czech colours. Its now up for download. You will notice thatI also knocked up a version in Republican colors to represent the semi-mythical Republican Aero A102's supposedly sighted during the Spanish Civil War. http://www.mission4today.com/index.p...etails&id=4476 http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/clannagh/A102.jpg |
and also this skin by Sparty ...

Nice avia skin, thanks.

I have a markings question for any Czech or Slovak history experts. Prewar Czech aircraft found online seem to usually be shown with the Letka letters to the front and aircraft numbers towards the rear. For example V4 on the left side and 4V on the right side. I have seen rare photos with both sides the same (letter then number) but it seems unusual. However mid war Slovak Republic aircraft are usually shown as having both sides the same (letter then number). Though again there are exceptions. Is this historically correct ? Where the markings mainly letter forward and number near the tail in the prewar Czech airforce and this later changed to letter then number left to right on aircraft used by the Slovak Republic ? |
There isn't too much I can say. Incredible!
|
|
Also ....
Will thi map have Xmas tree and Santa Sleigh objects ????? |
